Contemporary Fine Jewelry with a personal touch...and a minor #opalobsession

My passion for jewelry began when I was a little girl. I vividly remember collecting beads and sequins that had fallen off the inventory and onto the floor of “Mimi & Natalie,” my grandmother’s women’s accessories store in Rockville Center, New York. I repurposed these sparkling treasures to create my earliest pieces of jewelry.

This passion for creating evolved, as I discovered seed beads and looms and taught myself to wire wrap drilled gems into the designs of my dreams. While I loved working with these techniques, I longed to work in cast metals and set gemstones…so I took classes to learn the ancient technique of lost wax. I loved dripping the wax into positive forms and then carving it away into the shapes of my ideas.

Today, Searching for extraordinary gemstones is my favorite part of the process; finding the perfect stones recalls those treasured memories of childhood elation, discovering magical sequins and beads on the floor. Remarkable stones are the heart of the piece; all other elements of my designs are thoughtfully arranged to enhance the beauty of these gems, careful not to detract from them. While I adore all gemstones, Opals, Sapphires and Emeralds are among my absolute favorites, and they’ll sometimes fuse as one in my Signature NIXIN Opal Ombré pieces.

My hope is that each piece bridges a beautiful connection with its owner; it holds a special birthstone celebrating your growing family, it’s an engagement ring to mark your happily ever after, it features a glowing Opal that resonates so deeply you see it in your dreams. Whatever the story of connection may be, it’s yours. My favorite connection piece is a ring that I once made for my grandmother, Natalie. It’s engraved with a quote from a story she routinely told me. It says, “with all my love, in one fell swoop.” I wear it every day in her memory - and feel connected to her every time I look down at my hand. Someday, it will bridge an even deeper connection when I pass it down to my daughter, Natalie.

Sizing details
