Announcement   NOEart features the work of transmedia artist, Zannah Noe. Currently she is working on a series called American Bones, iconography of American Identity. Using photography to document her findings on the road, painting to reinterpret, film and projection installation to tell the narrative of first causes of identity and culture. On ETsy, she has created a virtual Gift Shop for souvenirs of icons, places, people and their mashups to support the work and further illustrate the origins of American Identity. There is a cold civil war happening here in America and often sides co-opt icons for their own purpose. Even the Gift Shop has not been spared globalization and exploited patriotic objects. Many wholesalers buy American Souvenirs from large manufacturing suppliers in China. The artist declares a Souvenir War on the manufacturing of souvenirs of and about America to being only American made. America should remember its narrative by means of making the souvenir themselves. Souvenir is a remembrance, the japanese have "omiyage" the gift from the traveler as an apology to those they were absent from. The object as gift, souvenir or talisman of memories of experience/place is infused with the intention of the skilled crafter.

LOVE this mini gem of a painting! beautifully executed, and i can't wait to have its companions join it in a grid. i'm looking forward to more clouds.

I thought they were closer to glass or a heavier duty material but the plastic seems cheap.

Sleek, subtle and beautifully executed images. When stacked they become an entire 3-D design. A choice hostess gift!
