About

There's always been a phrase that I have heard multiple times throughout my life, but never paid mind to it; "Back to the basics."
My whole life I have felt like I had to do what everyone expected me to do, or what I thought was "right". For example I went to college, I got a 9 to 5 job; I was stuck in this mindset that I had to rush through college and get a standard career at a standard job and my life would be stable. But things became complicated, I became overwhelmed and drained; and when things get complicated people always tell you to go back to the basics, what you know. For me, art and rocks were what I knew.
From a very young age I became enamored with witchcraft, drawing, and had an attraction towards rock and minerals. I can still to this day spend hours painting or working with clay, creating whatever pops into my head. My dad often calls my artwork "eccentric" or "macabre" as it often includes human anatomy meshing with crystals and fungi. for as long as I can remember I have had an affinity towards naturally occurring beauties so my interests were also geared towards the great outdoors as a child.
I would spend all day in the woods, digging rocks out of the ground and smashing them open to find hidden treasures inside, picking fungus off of trees for a "witch's brew". I had a large rock collection of hundreds of stones. Whether I liked the way they sparkled or if they were from a special place I had visited, they found their ways into the metal bin in my bathroom closet.
My parents would take me to gem shows and feed my obsession, I would always come home with a bag of glittering finds and oddities. If a particular stone peeked my interest I would spend hours researching it until I knew everything about it.
This shop shop started as a way to make some extra money, but has turned into the creative outlet I have been craving for a long time. It allows me to share my creations with the world and my love of rocks and stones.
