About

Traditional Styling and Custom Options + Quality Construction + Fast Service = Satisfaction

My mother is a knitter, her mother was a crocheter. They both did a fair bit of sewing as well. I learned to crochet from my grandmother as soon as I was big enough to hold the hook. My mom taught me to knit when I was a bit older and how to sew when I was 10. Much of my memory is filled with them working on projects for the home and family.

One winter I watched as my mother worked with a beautiful shade of red yarn that grew into what appeared to be a hat. When I asked her about it she said it was for a little girl in my class who needed it. I wracked my brain trying to figure out which little girl in my class could possibly need it or want it more than me. I was suprised and delighted when I opened my gifts Christmas morning and there it was. The cutest Little Red Riding Hood I could imagine. It was a hood with an attached scarf and so nice and warm and all the more special because my mom had made it for me.

It is that special feeling of delighted pleasure I want others to receive from purchasing my work. So I try to put as much care and skill into each piece as I can.

When I was taking my first in school, 7th grade sewing class, a girlfriends mother was adamant about how the inside of the garment should always look as good as the outside. It made me want an “A+” for the inside too. Her lesson has stuck with me. Whether knitting, crocheting or sewing I still strive for that level of excellence. (Thank you, Diana's Mom!)

I know I have achieved the goal when I see someone wearing a hat I made wrong side out. I can tell, but they can‘t. Not that I recommend wearing things inside out. I am still partial to seeing the rightside.

Your ideas come to life

It is my delight to take a customers idea or picture and bring it to life. Whether it’s a size or color or something completely different, making up custom orders keeps life fun and interesting for me. Even when a project doesn’t come out just right (it happens) I still end up with a unique item. When it does work out it feels great. And I love hearing from customers: “This hat is darling! The construction, design, and color are just what I wanted!”

Each order gets priority treatment. I make every effort to get the purchase there on time or early

I hate being late for anything. So, I show up early for most functions. Even when I know everyone else is going to be late I will still be there on time. I’m sort of compulsive that way. And I don’t mind hearing it from customers either: “It was shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition.” “Great beanie and fast delivery!” “Received quickly and good quality!” “The hat arrived so quickly and was great quality!”

I have been crocheting, knitting and sewing since I was a little girl. (Does it matter how long ago that was?) I love the process, from seeing a design in my head to working it out on paper to creating and finishing.
