First of all, this little doll is wonderful. She has been named Monae Bee and she is loved by all of her new family members. Getting her in mail in two days was great. Like the day I brought home my second son from the hospital. Only it was him who was anxious to hold the new "baby". After establishing ground rules about who the doll belonged to (Me),and settling a quick dispute about who could hold her first and who was doing it right. I was amazed at Sheila's creativity and expertise in carefully crocheting a removal dress and sandals, with an added butterfly hairbow to match. I stayed up late that night twisting my doll's stylable full head of hair and noting the special details of life-like ears, nose and eyes. Sheila Watkins, you out did yourself and we love my African American Crocheted Doll.

I bought this for my niece since she is biracial and she absolutely LOVED it!! She loves dolls in general and has been asking for more dolls that are her skin color. so I decided to get one for her. I have a friend who is an avid crocheter and she was also VERY impressed with the amount of work and precision it took to make this doll. I would DEFINITELY consider buying another one and I HIGHLY recommend Nanas Granddaughter to EVERYONE!! Shipping was very fast. :-)

Gorgeous and very sturdy! Love, love, love it! My little granddaughter loves her and sleeps with her daily. We had a problem with her pulling her hair out - now she happily feels the doll's hair rather than pulling at her own! Thank you soooo much! And quick delivery and helpful service!
    Highly recommend!!!

About

Black and biracial dolls are underrepresented so I make them.

My mother taught me to crochet when I was five, but it was my grandmother's (Nana) gift, which she passed along to me that I was able to surpass my mother's wildest dreams. I thank her for passing on her many talents and abilities to me. I can make things with my hands.

It is Nana's Granddaughter's mission to make dolls that black and biracial girls can identify with. To teach them to love their kinky, curly, wavy, bushy, oh so nappy hair.
