About NatalieSilitchArt

On Etsy since 2013

Natalie began her folk art career as an adjunct to her antique business in 1980.

She predicted a rising interest in folk art and began carving and painting wooden fruits, vegetable and animals. Her designs were quickly sold and a cottage industry was born. After outgrowing her home workshop, she moved to a large warehouse space in 1990, where she now employs a number of full-time artisans as well as at-home seamstresses.

Throughout the year new items are created with a whimsical look that is now identified as Natalie's own distinctive style. She continues to draw on the past--a new design might employ a piece of antique lace or an button, and often incorporates objects found in nature. It is this fresh approach that keeps her on the leading edge of the American folk art market.
