The print is lovely. Wonderful colors. It will have a special place in my bakery, Angelina Bakery, recently opened in Ischia (Naples). I will send you photos! Thank you for the cards and stickers, they were much appreciated. Bye!

Art Life

I began my shop in 2009 and have been working hard to create unique pieces ever since! It is a one woman operation, run out of a former pantry-turned-studio. I love creating things and working in a variety of media and styles, whether it be a hand bound book, a hanging mobile, ceramic mug or an ink drawing. The shop is a way to share these things with the entire globe and that is so exciting to me!

I was lucky to have my work featured in West Elm's winter 2012 catalogue, my paper house mobile appeared in a bedroom set photo. The mobile began as a project for art school that morphed into a great decorative piece for forgotten corners and under-utilized ceiling spaces. The feature was an amazing experience and taught me so much about what it means to run an art business.

Some of my favorite themes to work with are buildings, homes, plants and cats. I moved around frequently as a child, and have lived in more houses than I can count on two hands. The similarities and differences in structures and homes have always fascinated me. Upon moving to the city of Chicago, I was heavily inspired by the huge metropolis of vintage homes, apartment buildings and storefronts. Thus, I am currently working on an ongoing series of ink drawings highlighting the essence of what I enjoy about these buildings.

I also love to read mystery novels and watch detective shows and movies. I love the kitschy cement in the classic 'mystery' genre, and have found the inspirations leaking into my work.

In addition to making art, I love biking around the city, listening to records, and watching detective shows. Life is good!
