I wore these earrings to a luncheon today and received many compliments. They are stunning. From ordering to receiving the earrings was indeed very timely. The packaging is very professional and I love the look of the earrings. Also enjoyable was the story about the making of the earrings. Thank you.

Hello, and welcome to my shop, NatanyaElka!

I've been designing jewelry since I was 5 years old (truth), when my aunt showed me a lump of glass that could be melted down into something I could wear. My mom still has my first 'lump.'

Each of my pieces are made out of cloisonne enamel, which is molten glass fused to metal. Think of them as miniature glass paint-by-numbers, which I create from scratch. The enamel is in a powdered form when I work with it, after mixing with water, and grinding/sifting to the right consistency. I'll be honest, it's fairly dangerous, but I love it.

The tiny items, chain, and ribbon attached to each piece are all 'new, old stock.' Which means that *virtually* nothing I use has been newly manufactured. Even my enamels are vintage, so every piece is as eco-friendly as molten glass can be. Haha.

All of my designs are one hundred percent original, made by me, inspired by my dreams, and fueled by your desires. I am absolutely open to custom work, though for practical reasons, my enamel work cannot be changed once it's finished. However, if you see something in my shop that you *must* have (I know the feeling), please message me, and I will do my very best to fulfill your fantasy.

Things that *inspire* me:

I love nature, cats, and bees. I love thunderstorms, gluten-free food (especially sweet rice balls filled with red bean paste), and artwork that is filled with medical paraphernalia. I love anything that sparkles and is old, black and white photography, stinky chemicals, and medium-format cameras. I love the feel of old silk right after I paint it, and the way gemstones sparkle in the sun. I love farmer's markets, handmade anything, fresh air, and the twilight sky. I love to ride horses under the canopy of forest trees, and along the edge of the ocean. I like to fantasize about traveling to an unexplored place, and then suddenly finding myself there. I love my friends more than life itself, and I would do anything for those who treat me with compassion and respect. I love creative people who are also kind-hearted, and I'm the type of person who talks to strangers in the grocery store. I'm a pretty simple person, with some incredibly complex dreams (figuratively and literally).

You may have noticed that the name of my shop is NatanyaElka, which is also my Hebrew name. I chose to use these words, (which sound like 'Net-ton-ya-El-ka'), because of their meaning. Very simply, Natanya means, 'the most beautiful thing,' and Elka means, 'G-d's gift.' Together, the two words signify 'The most beautiful thing, which is a gift from G-d.'

That is what I would like to create for you. Something that makes you feel special when you wear it, open it, or place your memories inside of it. A small beautiful thing. From me, to you...
