About

From Fine Art To Wearble Art

I started my shop as a means to market my smaller, wearable art to a wider audience. I have been a fulltime exhibiting artist for over 8 years. As a respite from larger shows and public and private commissions I began making jewelry. I have found making unique wearable art has fired my creativity inspired me to experiment with new patterns and designs. Now the jewelry has taken on a life of it’s own!

My store features my unique hybrid beaded wearable art. The pieces featured in this store are inspired by my interest in modern design blended with my background in traditional native arts and crafts. The majority of my art work is large scale art projects for gallery and museum display. Here in my shop I feature the smaller jewelry pieces I create as a means of exploring color, form, and design elements. I use design elements from many different native beadwork traditions as well as from diverse embroidery and clothing design traditions.

Message me with any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

Beadwork often appears very fragile, but my work is strenuously tested. I wear my own pieces and subject them to all kinds of abuses in order to know what the life span and problem areas may be. All my beadwork is far stronger and more durable than it may appear. I put special effort into ensuring my jewelry pieces are lightweight and comfortable.
