This gorgeous linen reminds me of my favorite film "Amelie"! I had to have it❤️
Time to share my vintage finds...
If you love Mid Century illustrations that are charming, quirky, whimsical, lovely, appealing or funny, then you will flip for the amazing designs that are printed on my vintage linens. You will find yourself smiling when you look through the "shelves" at NeatoKeen.
I started collecting vintage linens right after my dear Dad passed away. I think I was searching for something nostalgic to ease the pain and fill the void. The pain subsided a bit and, boy oh boy, did I fill a void! In fact, I ended up with an ENORMOUS collection of incredible linens (particularly tea towels and tablecloths) from the 1950s and 60s...way too many for any one individual to enjoy in a lifetime.
I knew that I had to reverse the process and begin to pare down my mountain of linens. In other words, it was time to share my collection. As luck would have it, I ran across a story online about Etsy and its founder. I opened my online vintage shop shortly thereafter and haven't looked back. Not only have my linens made it into appreciative hands and homes all over the world, but I have met the kindest, most passionate people I've ever encountered in my life.
My hope is that vintage printed linens will be viewed as an art form. I studied art history in college and quickly came to the realization that I would never possess the means to acquire the beautiful works of art that I studied. Mid Century linens are affordable and accessible works of art.
Many were designed by prominent artists and illustrators of the time - Tammis Keefe, Pat Prichard, Carl Tait, Tony Sarg, Tom Morrow, Lucienne Day - to name a few. The designs are often light-hearted and aesthetically pleasing...definitely an antidote to the blues.
My items have been purchased by artisans, illustrators, authors, store designers, theater and movie set designers, collectors, museums and even a few celebrities. I sell to people looking for a unique gift as well as avid linen collectors. I like to think that they have provided inspiration or, at the very least, a reason to smile.
Please come on in and explore the world of Mid Century linens. I hope you find them as charming and captivating as I do. By the way, my shop name is a rather old-fashioned, endearing expression to use when you see something that you think is pretty cool...wow, that's "NeatoKeen!"
