Additional policies and FAQs
Candle FAQ's:

What are your Beeswax candles made out of?
My all natural candles are made with Beeswax.. Beeswax is a more natural alternative than that of the typical Parrafin Wax used to make candles. Beeswax is made from the glands of honeybeesl while Parrafin (which is the wax many use because it is so inexpensive) is made from decayed animal and plant material.

What are your wicks made out of?
All natural squrebraided cotton.

What is the best way to care for my candle?
• Before lighting your candle, please make sure it is on a sturdy surface away from flammable materials and children.
• When the candle is lit, allow for the burn pool or melted wax to reach all surrounding sides of the container before extinguishing. This prevents the candle from tunneling or burning unevenly.
• Trim the wick after each use or when it begins to mushroom/distort. This prevents access soot from accumulating and contributes to an even burn.
• To optimize the performance of your candle, burn no more than 4 hour intervals.

Info on why I sell beeswax candles over other waxes....

http://greenmommyblog.com/index.php/2010/03/23/organic-soy-candles-ok-heres-the-deal/

SOY wax candles are most often a blend of soy,
palm, paraffin, and beeswax.
Paraffin is a petroleum byproduct. It is the sludge left over
after processing diesel. Synthetic co solvents can be added to
paraffin to effect fragrance throw and or prevent the colors
from fading in ultraviolet light. Crude oil is not a renewable
resource. We believe burning a petroleum product in your
home, is not a good idea. To burn a kerosene heater (with an
open flame) in your home is strictly prohibited. A paraffin
candle, after all, is nothing but a tiny crude oil based “heater”.

Palm Wax Candles FAQ's:

http://www.bonbons-creations.com/Pages/EcoFriendlyWax.aspx

I purchase my all natural palm wax from Nature's Garden which is a reputable source. This is what they say about their palm wax:
"Our palm waxes come from palm trees which are cultivated on private plantations. Our palm wax is no threat to rainforests or the organutan ecosystems. Our palm wax is eco-friendly, and is provided from a sustainable tree crop which helps to sequester carbon. We are pleased to affirm that the palm oil used by our company originates from reputable plantation companies who are members of the Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA). MPOA, together with many other stakeholders, has pioneered the establishment of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Besides plantation companies, foreign companies and Associations such as Unilever, Sainsbury (in United Kingdom), Migros (in Switzerland) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) are also active participants in RSPO. These members have pledged to support all activities to promote and implement sustainable palm oil production.
Our Companies have recognized that the Roundtable process is a secure and neutral environment in which to build trust, share ideas and develop understanding about the practicalities in the palm oil supply chain involving producers, traders, processors, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, investors and NGOs.
Our Companies through all the Members of MPOA, takes pride in being part of this RSPO process."
