Why sell this stuff?

I have been needlepointing since high school. That is 30+ years of stitching. You can only give away so much. My storage space overflowed again, so I hope to send my work to homes that will love it.

I am also a published romance author. The url sends you to my website.

Additional policies and FAQs
A note about pricing:
Seems kind of expensive, doesn't it? Yes, if you are just talking a pillow to throw around. No, if you want a handmade piece of art. An Ehrman kit (famous designer) is around $100.00.

Here is what I paid to make one needlepoint pillow:

$40.00 Blank canvas is about $10.00. Blank means there is no picture on
it. If you buy the canvas painted - with a picture - jump the price to
$40.00 and up. Mostly up. There are some canvases I would love to
do that cost over $100. I paint a lot of my own canvases.
11.50 Paternayan yarn 4 oz. (the amount used depends on the size of the
piece, but figure 4 oz)
12.00 Pillow form - the stuffing of a pillow - this is for polyester. If you do
down, double the price
15.00 Backing material for a pillow. This varies widely, depending on the
15.00 Blocking the needlepoint. This is the process of wetting a finished
piece, stretching it on a board, and letting it dry so it is straight. I do
my own blocking.
30.00 Sewing a simple pillow - no trim. This is what I charge my friends
when I sew a pillow up for them.
??? Metallic thread, etc. That stuff gets pricey. If it's on the needlepoint,
it's there because the piece looks better with it. Who cares about
??? Trim around the pillow. Some have it, some don't. The price varies so
widely, I'm not going to figure it here. If you buy one of my pieces that
have upholstery trim, figure you are getting a $20.00 bonus.
123.50 Total cost

And the shipping is free.

Notice I don't add anything for my time. On a good night, I can do a 3X3 inch square of needlepoint while I watch TV. That is 9 square inches. A 12X12 piece is 144 square inches. So, working hard, I can complete a 12X12 inch pillow in a little over 2 weeks. Trust me, that is working hard.

So, please don't say the price is too high. I'm not here to get rich; I'm trying to clear some needlepoint out a very full drawer and get the money to fill it up again.
