5 out of 5 starsWas looking to get some artsy hand-craft food covers for summer barbecues and parties. These looked great, but you never sure until you receive them. Nice size large enough to cover a bowl or platter. Well made, stable and good looking. They're also collapsible for storage, which is very convenient.

5 out of 5 starsSecond time I've ordered these baskets. I'm finding them useful for multiple purposes. On back of commode to gather small hygiene items, in pantry for small packets. I think they will be perfect for transporting silverware or napkins to lanai for outdoor dining

5 out of 5 starsBeauuuuutiful plant! It's so large I can barely see it's basket 😅. There was a shipment delay; but even so, I'm very glad I purchased it. The plant arrived only 5 days late, and it's huuge!! I placed it next to another 6 inch pot for comparison in the photo. I love it, thank you.

NEEPA HUT STORY
01 - OUR FOUNDER
JENNIFER SHUM ABELEV is the Los Angeles-based social entrepreneur behind NEEPA HUT. Her desire to make a positive impact was sparked by spending time with artisan communities in Southeast Asia. Seeing the women practice their respective crafts, she was struck by their ingenuity and perseverance, despite their humble surroundings.
Motherhood, for her, took on a new significance after spending time with these women. Consequently, she traded her career in finance for a new challenge, focused on preserving the heritage of Southeast Asia artisans through NEEPA HUT.
The crafts of our artisans shape the social fabric of their villages, and help them provide for their children and families. It is their sense of community and togetherness that Jennifer hopes to extend through NEEPA HUT’s products.
02 - OUR STORY takes roots in the coastlands dotting the Indian and the Pacific oceans, where, traditionally, indigenous people lived in stilt shacks with roofs covered in nipa palm. Today, nipa huts have come to symbolize the Filipino value of bayanihan, the spirit in which the people of a community come together in an effort to achieve a common goal. It is this sense of communal unity from which NEEPA HUT draws its inspiration.
03 - OUR MISSION is to extend the value of bayanihan by promoting and preserving the skills, crafts, and heritage of artisans from areas most affected by natural disasters, poverty, or overdevelopment.
4 - OUR VALUES are inspired by the artisans’ dedication to the traditional methods of their crafts and their commitment to the sustainability of their land and its natural products. All of our goods are carefully selected, of premium quality, handmade and locally sourced in fair trade. Our vendors themselves come from the communities that create our specially chosen collections.

Philippines
In 2013, Typhoon Haiyan ravaged the rural villages in the Visayas Islands in the Philippines. With help from local social entrepreneurs, communities of artisan weavers came together to restore their homes and livelihoods using the traditional crafts that had sustained generations before them.

In the Sarawak region of Borneo Island, surrounded by dense green rainforest and steep limestone mountains, indigenous tribes of the Bidayuh come together during the low agriculture season to weave a variety of traditional baskets.
