I love my Mr Darcy necklace. Its quirky and beautiful. I'm going to enjoy wearing it! The only improvements would be offering this item in different sizes and lengths (ball and chains) and perhaps providing an organza bag for easy storage.

I love showcasing beautiful fabrics with my fabric covered beads and stitched creations.

'MadeintheAttic' was born amongst the dusty books of my attic bedroom where I would spend hours making my creations. I began selling in order to fund-raise for a charity trip to Uganda in 2010. After raising the funds, I found I couldn't stop and have maintained a small jewellery shop on Etsy in my spare time while studying as an English student. I now live and work in Oxford where my jewellery continues to be born out of a love for stories and the romantic feeling of books.

Since those early days of creating in the attic my style has matured and my technique improved as I've perfected the method of covering beads with book pages and fabric. The first few times I cut up a real book to cover beads I winced, but soon came to see the process as giving a fresh life to some of my favourite stories and characters. Having an Etsy shop allows me to send these stories and characters across the world!

I love being contacted by people looking for something a little bit unique and have created bespoke items including many for brides and bridesmaids. Some favourite commissions have included some Sonnet 116 jewellery for a bride and bracelets to commemorate Jesus College Oxford's 40 years of admitting women.

Payment

Please make payments within 2 days of purchase. I prefer payment through PayPal or direct checkout.

Shipping

I aim to ship my items within 3 days of receiving payment. Please expect a longer process time for custom orders. I usually aim for 5-14 days to create custom items.

Jewellery is securely packaged. The items are displayed in cellophane wrapping. If you would like it gift wrapped in tissue please request this when you purchase. Any item which might become misshapen in the post e.g. my fabric flower earrings, will be packaged in a sturdy box.

Shipping withing the UK is sent by First Class Royal Mail. I am willing to send items by Recorded Delivery, just contact me for a quote prior to ordering.

International shipping is sent by International Standard via the Royal Mail. For cheaper items, I do NOT use a tracked or signed for service. This service is expensive from the UK to abroad, however a recorded delivery service is available on request should you require this. Message me for details.

Shipping times can vary depending on the country of destination. The Royal Mail list 5-7 working days for arrival to the US - but often this can take longer (perhaps up to 6 weeks) depending on the time of year.

Although my photos aim to present my pieces as accurately as possible, the very nature of handmade items may mean that this is not always possible. Also, please be aware that due to individual monitors, colours may be displayed slightly differently.

I am very open to any custom orders. Please contact me and I will be very happy to oblige. Note custom items may require an increased price from similar, ready made items in my shop. This will usually be 10-20% more expensive. This is to reflect the extra work required for custom design work.
