Note from shop owner Announcing: Relaunch of nerdJERK | June 2016

Dear Awesome Human - Thank You!

A few years back I took a break from nerdJERK in order to recover from an illness and it was worth it.

After all the healing that took place whilst on hiatus, we were able to create, incubate and deliver an awesome baby boy (Elliott Aaron Moore Cortes) in December 2015! He was 2 months early because he just could contain his awesomness anymore! ;D

He has taken the place of my beloved Lita (who passed in January 2015) as our Quality Control Expert. ;)

As a new mom, I've been thinking about all the ways I'd love to spend my time. Most of it necessitates working an office job and making time snuggling my tiny family.

But I'm currently making time for relaunching nerdJERK soon - just in a different incarnation. :) Please look out for it in June 2016!

If you'd like to request a custom item and don't mind wait times of up to 6 weeks, feel free to contact me at nerdJERK at gmail.com

For those of you reading this: Thank you for your unending patience and continued support.

Nerd love rules!!!

Ordered a kit almost a month ago. Still have not received it. Sent the seller an email inquiring and never got a response. Have put in a dispute with Paypal to get my money back. I'm really disappointed as I was looking forward to getting this kit.

About

Making pixels come to life through textile awesomeness

THE FUTURE OF NERD JERK
As I continue to hand-design & construct new work, I'm also looking forward to expanding my business in fun, bold ways in the near future. I'm all about inspiring smiles from geeks around the world with the new nerdity I'm stitchin up!

Rebranding my business is probably one of the scariest things I've ever done, but after having gotten married at a comic book convention whilst managing a major health crisis for Lita at the same time, it's no wonder I feel like I can take on the world!

Check out what the press has to say about it (even includes an exclusive video interview): http://www.goldengatexpress.org/2012/10/16/nerd-jerk/
_____

THE ORIGINS OF NERD JERK
Embarrassingly enough, I started making geeky crochet sculptures in order to impress a boy.

Needless to say, the fella was impressed and started showing off my geekery to his nerdy friends. Soon I was getting so many requests for more and more characters from all kinds of video games, it was apparent that I needed to open up shop and that's how nerd JERK was born.

I still get amazing custom requests for video game characters I've never heard of and am delighted to figure out how to make into yarny awesomeness.

Now six years have gone past since my first Bob-Omb and I can honestly say I never thought it would have brought me to where I am today. My work has been in galleries both locally and nationally, in international publications & has even been featured at a museum!

Hope to send you some brightly coloured awesomeness in the mail soon!

Thanks so much for supporting handmade geekery & ROCK ON! :D

If you'd like to upgrade to USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate, please convo me here: http://www.etsy.com/convo_new.php?to_username=NerdJerk
_________________________

For a speedier delivery, we can upgrade our shipping method to USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days for delivery within the USA). Usually this is $5.55 within the USA. It sometimes fluctuates. If the item is being shipped within California, the rate is usually $4.90. It it weighs less than 13 ounces for areas within regions in the West/Midwest, it's $5.35. We charge $5.55 to cover taxes within California and travel expenses to the Post Office.
_________________________

We do ship internationally and set our prices with that of Priority Flat Rate boxes. It seems to be the quickest but not always the most economically sensible way to ship. It's been known to be $20 to Canada recently, so we recommend using First Class Mail if you don't need your item(s) in a rush. If you have questions about how much it would be to send something to your country via USPS Priority Medium Flat Rate, we can refer you to the USPS Postage Calculator:
