Geeking out over everyday things!

Hello out there!

This shop started when I saw an awesome pair of R2-D2 shoes online and thought, "Hey, I could make those!" After wearing them about, I kept having people tell me I should sell them, so here I am! I've also dug out my (very) old sewing machine to play around with as well.

Though I'm not an artist, per say, I like to dabble around with all differnt kinds of crafty things. I love pretty much anything sci fi or fantasy, and enjoy coming up with fun ways to show that with the world. My influences include, but are certainly not limited to, Star Trek, Star Wars, anything Joss Whedon, Warehouse 13, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Harry Potter, Disney, video get the idea. Basically, I want to share my various nerdly sides with you!

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your stay!

Thank you for shopping with NerdlyGoodness! I'm excited to make something special for you! I'm just like you: a geeky nerdy fan of sci-fi and fantasy, and I like sharing my fandoms in stylish ways.

Every piece I make is totally hand-made. I am not a trained artist, and I do a lot of trial and error to figure out how to make cool nerdly things. I make and test out all of my prototype shoes. Living in Seattle, my prototype shoes do see rain; a little dampness won't kill your shoes, but don't go splashing in puddles.

I love collaborating with my customers! I'm always open to trying out custom orders (that's how the Imperial Crest shoes came to be). I also am big on communication. When you place an order, I will confirm your shoe size, color, and if there is a certain date you need them by. If there is a doubt in shoe size, I encourage you to go to a Payless store and try on the Lower East Side flats, as those are the exact ones I will be using for you. You will also receive email updates with photos during the process so you can make sure the shoes are turning out how you imagined.

The shoes take about one week to make. This includes the stenciling, painting (there are usually many layers), cleaning up the design, and Mod Podge coating. The Mod Podge can have a strong odor at first, and I let the shoes air out outdoors for at least 24 hours before shipping, however you may notice an odor when you first open your package. Trust me, this will go away!
