My start into fused glass.
My journey with fused glass began years ago when I took an Intro to Fused Glass class in a neighboring town. I have always enjoyed making things and I was excited to see my creations finished. I had a pottery kiln at the time and soon began melting wine bottles into cheese trays and decorating them with different colored beads. Working with a limited amount of colors was not enough and I soon bought a small glass kiln and my passion, New Life Glass Designs was born.
My studio is located in Wasilla, Alaska where I have lived since 1978. I am a registered nurse by trade and working with glass is an excellent way to bring beauty into the world to counteract some of the sadness we nurses sometimes see in hospitals.
I hope you enjoy owning one of my creations as much as I have enjoyed making them. Watching the light shine through the transparent glass or watching solid colors melt next to each other has always fascinated me. There are always new things to learn and try.
I have made a lot of friends on this journey and had many talented teachers who I now consider my friends. Thank you for visiting my shop.
