An Introduction

One day in 2012, as the snow melted and Winter turned into Spring, Joe went to the bar after work to meet a friend who had decided not to come, and not to tell Joe. So he sat and pretended to be interested in the hockey game, sipping dejectedly on a pint of Old Chub Ale, until someone slapped him on the back and said, "Hey Joe!" And that's how it all started.

Of course, the back-slapper was Paige who was enjoying a band playing during happy hour. The two of us were acquainted, but not until that night had we hung out. From there it was only a matter of weeks spending most of our spare time together getting to know one another that we discovered we had a similar dream to be self employed, and the idea of starting a t-shirt business followed shortly after.

We spent quite a few months distracted by other business ideas that we, one by one, realized were not going to work. One of these was sewing fancy tote bags, and although we decided to leave the bags behind, and Paige decided that it was time to focus her energy entirely on t-shirts, Joe rediscovered what had been a childhood love for sewing, and has kept with it, first designing the wallets available now in our shop, and learning techniques from a local retired seamstress in hopes to offer more handmade products soon.

Outside of Newman Potter Works we're both avid runners, language lovers, political activists, and we enjoy spending time with our dog Petey and our cat Rex (who is almost four times Pete's size). For now we both have day jobs, Paige at a local software company, Joe at a local food cooperative.

Returns and exchanges
We accept returns and exchanges. Policies for national versus international returns/exchanges are different and as follows:

Within the United States: we will accept returns and exchanges as long as it is shipped back to us within ten business days of it being delivered to you. Items must be unwashed, unworn, and odor free. Customers wishing to return or exchange an item are responsible for return shipping fees. We will pay for shipment of the replacement item in the case of exchanges.

International Customers: If you receive your items and wish to return or exchange them, please send us a message and we will go from there. Items must be returned unwashed, unworn, and odor free. Customers wishing to return or exchange an item are responsible for return shipping fees, and in the case of exchanges are also responsible for shipment fees of replacement items, and we leave it to the customer to decide if replacement items will be insured. If you wish to return or exchange because of a defect in the product you purchase, please contact us with photos and an explanation of the issue. If any defect or damage to an item is our fault, we will not require return shipping.

All Customers: refunds will be issued only after we receive and inspect returned items except, as explained above, in the case of international customers wishing to get refunds for damaged/defective products where damage/defects were our fault.

Please note: If you are dissatisfied with our service, products, or anything else about our business please contact us with your questions, concerns, and criticisms, and feel free to suggest how we may improve, before leaving negative or neutral feedback. We want to know if we are doing something wrong, and we want to communicate with you in order to make it right and to build a happy and satisfying buyer/seller relationship.
We accept payments through PayPal, where you can use your credit and debit cards without setting up an account.
Items will be shipped within time specified within each listing. If for any reason we are unable to ship within this time we will contact you as soon as possible and go from there.

We use both poly mailers and boxes, all made from 100% recycled materials. Both the mailers and the boxes are reusable and recyclable. We stamp our logo (NPW) on every package so that you know to be super excited when you check your mail.

Also note: we are not responsible for lost/stolen items, or for the amount of time (sometimes indefinite) a package is stopped at customs. If you are within the U.S. and would like to purchase insurance for the package, let us know in a message and we will create a new invoice for you.
