About

Garden Tools and Forged Home Decor from Blacksmith Erik Newquist in the USA

We are a husband and wife team, living in one of the wildest areas of the lower 48 states in the USA, on the edge of Olympic National Park and Puget Sound....which also happens to be only a ferry ride away from Seattle.

Erik's shop is a 2 car garage with 7 anvils and almost exactly 89 hammers. He teach blacksmithing classes as well as make all my products here. He has been blacksmithing for 18 years, and plans to do this profession until he can't lift the hammer anymore.
Radha is the photographer and manager of the business, and loves to test drive all the garden tools in her large vegetable and fruit gardens.
Our goal is to produce functional and beautiful tools and home decor that last a lifetime or more, while keeping an ancient art alive and well here in the USA. All products are tested for functionality, ease of use, how lightweight they can be while still maintaining strength, how ergonomic they are (esp. the garden tools) and their durability. That is why we are able to offer a lifetime guarantee for our products.

Care instructions

All ironwork is finished with linseed oil and beeswax. This finish can last for years indoors, or for the garden tools, if they are cleaned and stored dry after each use. Should any rust develop here are the steps to care for your metal work:

1. Use steel wool or a wire brush to remove rust
2. Apply a thin coat of linseed oil, tung oil, or mineral oil
3. Wipe excess oil with a cloth and allow to dry
