About

"Shall I tell you a tale?" ....said the Storyteller

Hello! I’m Nicola and I’m a fine art photographer who tells stories with my images. My collection is called "Tales from the Moors Country"

I’m inspired by the savage beauty of my beloved North Yorkshire, the combination of astonishing light conditions and terrifying wildness that brings up memories of gothic literature and physical sensations of a spiritual and organic connection with the natural world.

All of my images are self portraits, taken with a remote control. Each one is a labour of love, consisting of many images painstakingly stitched together in the computer to create a world that doesn’t exist in reality.

Stories are how we make sense of the world and our place in it, our own interpretation of what it means to live and die, love and lose, hold on and let go. I can only humbly hope that my work sparks your imagination, shows you that you are creative, that you have stories inside you too.
