Night Craft Co. Is Open for Business!

I've watched potters my whole life. My mother, Tiffinie Helmer from Hobble Creek Pottery, has been throwing since she was in high school and I just wasn't interested. However, I'd watch her throw and help her glaze her pieces. When COViD-19 struck and my job furloughed me, I desperately needed something to do as publishing was also taking a down turn, I had a horse that was pregnant (we ended up losing the baby), and it didn't look like my writing was going anywhere fast. I needed something that was just good and fun and a 180 from the rest of my life.

My mother gave me one lesson and I threw my first pot. The next day, I threw several mugs, then more mugs, and soon I had filled an entire kiln with stoneware! It's been two months of throwing and I can't keep everything I make. I go through about 20lbs of clay every few days and can't stop throwing!

I guess all those years growing up observing gave me more education about being a potter than I thought. XD
