Love, luck, and fleece fuzz: LGBTQ+ positive, fannish, geeky collectible goodies.

Eight years ago, in 2008, on an impulse and an instinct, I quit the office job that was crushing my soul and started my own sewing business, Nightengale Needles.

Now in 2016, I celebrate the combination of good fortune and tenacity that lets me make my passion my livelihood. Nightengale Needles remains my full-time job, and I've been able to add my fiancé Trey to the mix as my office manager and number-cruncher.

Now, we sell our fleecy goods and geekery at anime, gaming, pony, and furry conventions from Boston to Atlanta, all up and down the Eastern side of the USA.

Please let me introduce you to our handmade goods, and in doing so, maybe I can bring some of our philosophy home to your heart, too. We believe that nobody has to live without joy. That whether it's in your job or your hobbies or your collectibles, joy and warmth of the heart are essential to living a fulfilled and forward-facing life. I hope that some of our little offerings can bring that warmth into your home, whether it's a scoodie wrapped warm around your shoulders or a plushie perched happily on your shelf.

We make a particular focus on offering PRIDE themed items, because some people, myself among them, need more support and hugs when facing the world than others.

If you've got any questions about our stuff, a suggestion for what we should make next, or are simply curious about our little fluffy life, please send us a line!

We'd love to say hello.

Love, luck, and fleece fuzz--
Nightengale Needles

I tend to think about sewing from a very problem-solving perspective: Not *whether* I can do something, but how I can *best* do it. The sky's the limit - or, well, perhaps the selvages. :)

Returns and exchanges
If any stock item from my shop is significantly not as described, faulty, or otherwise unsatisfactory, please contact me so we can work out a solution. Sometimes the appropriate solution is a return and refund; sometimes an exchange; sometimes, it's best just to ship it back to me so I can fix it and give it back. :)

There are no returns on custom commissions. I always communicate the finished state and nature of a commission before final payments are made and before shipping occurs, either by individual communication/Convos with you, or through the listing photos, which I always strive to make most accurate. Any dissatisfaction or concerns about the finished state must be communicated before the item leaves my hands.

In general, however? None of these worries should come into effect at all. I want you to be completely satisfied with your Nightengale Needles purchases at every step of the process, and make every effort to ensure that that's possible. :)
I accept PayPal, credit card, and money order. In all cases, payment must clear before the item will be shipped. Installment payments are available for large orders, especially large-scale commissions. Invoicing is available.

Pricing for all items is determined by adding a labor value to the actual cost of materials.
By default, packages are shipped via United States Postal Service First Class. Priority or Express services, as well as Insurance, can be requested if you wish, or added by me at my discretion to ensure the timeliness or safety of the package, especially for complex orders.

Regarding rush shipping orders: Discussing your deadlines with me ahead of time is always recommended BEFORE ordering. In all cases I will do my best to achieve your desired deadline despite circumstances, but advance notice is always preferred since all my items are hand made and require a large investment of time.

If I promise you a specific date of delivery, and the delivery confirmation slip shows that the package arrived too late due to factors within my control, I'll refund your shipping in full.
Additional policies and FAQs

I would prefer that you Convo me to arrange a custom item. :)

If your item ever needs repair through reasons of normal wear, normal play, or normal use, please Convo me with a description of the item in your subject line, and if possible the listing ID number as well. I will make maintenance repairs free of charge to any item I've sold you in the past, so long as nothing catastrophic has happened to it since it left my hands.

If catastrophic damage occurs to any item I've sold you (I'm picturing a happy puppy and fabric in shreds), I'll be happy to negotiate replacements on a case-by-case basis.

If fiber (wool, etc) allergies are a concern for you or for your gift recipient, let me know before I begin construction of your commission. I can use all-synthetic materials on request.

Additional allergy concern: I have a long-haired cat. I can make special effort to keep all fur out of the work area while I construct your commission if you or your recipient have low-moderate cat allergies. However, if severe feline allergies are a concern, I must encourage you to shop elsewhere; I really don't want to compromise your safety!

Nightengale Needles would love to be part of your plans for large-scale runs of existing or new and custom NN items! Just send me a Convo and we can get to chatting. :)

If you have any other questions, please Convo me! I'd love to chat.
