About

Art and Nikkoneko prove to be great therapy for serious illness

After years of working in creative jobs, and doing art fairs on the weekends, I became very ill. I was eventually diagnosed with Lupus. I became too sick to work or do the art shows. I was taking care of my two children and battling illness and toxic, debilitating medications. I needed to keep making art to be positive. I heard of etsy from a fellow crafter, (and mom of my daughter's best friend). I signed up, started slowly, but it was so great to be back in the art community! My shop was up and running, with a sale here and there. I became very sick and partially paralyzed. My etsy shop was "on vacation" several times. After many months of agonizing pain, inability to uncurl my fingers, and barely move, the doctors figured it out. I had a partial replacement of my spine. After the surgery, it took a full year to get back to functioning again, I had to re- learn how to walk. Now I am recovering. The Lupus is not in remission, but it is mild and less active. I have even been accepted to a couple of art fairs! All the while staying active on etsy. Now I have 100 or more items in my shop, and strive to keep making art. I really love the friendliness and warmth of the etsy artisan community.

I am a single mom, professional artist, & cat mom. I have been making art since I was a teenager. I majored in printmaking & design in college. I began with Cat Shows & Art Fairs. Art on the computer is new to me. (My teenagers are very helpful)

The reason behind all of my work, is the desire to make someone smile. My favorite art to make is the collages with my handmade paper. Also at the top of my favorites list are monotypes, etchings and collagraphs. I love many other forms of art and crafts too. Even when I am making jewelry, I approach each item as a collage, having fun mixing textures and shapes! My computer skills are not great, so, sometimes I may seem a bit slow, but, my studio is overflowing with finished art stuffs that i can't wait to share with you!! I am probably just having technical difficulties. (or a cat is standing on the keyboard) I will take the best photos I can, to clearly represent each item.

I prefer all payments to be made through PayPal. I now take credit cards too.
Shipping
I will ship mostly one or two days after payment is made. In the winter I put ship in 3-5 days on listings, just in case of snow storms. Usually I get orders out quickly. I use US postal service. If you are a local, I can deliver to you by hand (if You choose).
Refunds and Exchanges
This will have to be on a case by case basis. I certianly want you to be happy with your purchase. I will do my best to pack fragile items well, but, I know there are occasionally random acts of damage in the transit system. Purchasing USPS insurance will protect against transit damage.
Additional policies and FAQs
If You would like something, and are not in U.S., please ask, and I will figure it out quickly!!! If the actual shipping is more than $1.00 less than expected, I will refund the amount through paypal.
