About

Living the life of Creativity

Intuitive Design~Inspired by nature, many cultures and traditions, as well as the organic and fluid lines of the art nouveau era, Shannon Noelke Metal Arts is more than artisan jewelry. It is the blending of feminine and masculine elements into a synthesis of natural materials that speaks to the ancient and primal in all of us. I specialize in traditional metal work, intricate wire weaving, metal etching and fold forming. I create these one of a kind pieces as a way to connect to the sacred within myself as well as my customers
I began creating beaded jewelry as a small child, then as a teenager and my love for the Grateful Dead started using semi precious stones, doing knot work and seed bead weaving. From there I took my first silversmithing class through the Gem and Mineral Society in the early 90's taught by Paul Casteel. I dabbled in metal work for a few years, then in 2007 I opened up and co-owned Bead Here Now, a local bead shop in the 5 Points area of Jacksonville. I taught beading and wire classes there, then started teaching some basic metalworking classes. This is when I began metalworking fulltime. In 2013 I left the bead shop so I could focus on metalworking fulltime and we opened up King Street Studios ,a warehouse space where we offered classes and art shows. Due to high overhead and zoning issues, we closed the doors in 2016 and decided to work from home. At this time I am a full time jeweler with an online business.
