Announcement   Animal photography, nature photography, African wild animal photography, landscape, seascape, abstract dreamscape, art photography for holiday gifts for women and men, animal lovers gifts, studio and office wall art. I live in South Africa, and I'm amazed every day by the rich photographic opportunities available to me - at times, without having to leave my own garden. My studio is at the foot of a mountain, in a direct path of the baboons who sleep there, on their daily forage for food. I have yet to see one, but we once heard a leopard cry out in the night. I'm also close to the sea. If I squint, I can see whales during season from here, and it's a short walk to a colony of penguins who also call this area home.

Take a look around, and join me in the wonder of this place. :) :)

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping from here (South Africa) to the States has taken up to a month, but is typically less.

All photos in my shop are my own, and are processed by me in my studio.

Half of all baboon print sales proceeds will go to The Darwin Primate Group, a primate rescue facility, which is always in need of funds. To see more about what they do, please visit http://www.darwinprimategroup.blogspot.com/

Most of the photos I’ve taken of baboons have been on my house, or near my house. I love them, and feel privileged to be able to watch them and experience nature so close. Unfortunately, not everyone feels that way, and baboons in this area are sometimes seen as pests. They have rocks and fire-crackers thrown at them, are poisoned, shot at with sling-shots, paint guns and real guns. I have witnessed all of these horrible acts, and am mortified at a person who is able to injure and even kill a beautiful animal like this.

There are lots of us who protect the baboons the best we can, but yet…we can’t stop everyone. Thank goodness for places like The Darwin Primate Group, who take in injured and orphaned baboons and vervet monkeys.

You don’t have to purchase a print to support the facility. If you click on the link, there is information on how to help.
