About NorthCoastDreamer
"Handspun yarn is special to me because of the personal touch it takes to make it, as well as the overall creative process that results in a one of a kind yarn.” (Allie Kloster)
Allison Kloster is a yarn and fiber artist currently living and working in Portland, Oregon. She was born in 1985 in Venice, Florida. Originally she studied biology and floral design, and now uses her eye for natural color and composition to spin beautiful yarn. Her passion for hand-spinning began while working at an alpaca farm and learning about the yarn making process from start-to-finish.
*What’s the difference with handspun yarn?
Handspun yarn is a unique and exciting new experience in every skein, every inch, of yarn. Starting from fluffy, loose “roving”, or even, raw fiber, it is transformed into a handspun yarn through either drop spindle, or spinning wheel.
Hand-spinning yarn is a technique that requires practice, patience and an eye for detail.
“With every new yarn I spin, there is a connection between fiber, color, texture and touch. This brings to life a truly unique and new handspun yarn. Handspun yarn is special to me because of the personal touch it takes to make it, as well as the overall creative process that results in a one of a kind yarn.” (Allie Kloster)
