Looks just as amazing as it did online. Fits perfectly and my fiancée loves it as well. Great ring that suits the groom that is a little different and not “traditional”. Love supporting Canadian artisans as well!

Our commitment to our customers, our craft and our employees defines us!

Northwood Rings began in 2012 when my husband made me my first wooden ring. At that time we were living in Ontario, Canada and both working the night shift in hotels, as well as running a weekend coffee cart in a local market. Somewhere in there my amazing partner found the time to craft me a ring from oak.

I hadn't worn a wedding ring since our wedding day (turns out I was allergic to that beautiful golden band we saved up for!) and he knew I looked around at alternatives that we'd never afford. Instead, he came up with the most creative and romantic idea - a wooden ring made from oak, hand crafted by him! I had grown up on a farm called 'Lot of Oaks' and the place was magical to me. I was in love with wooden rings the moment I saw it, and he was in love with the process of making them. I soon had more rings than I could handle.

While he was falling in love with the technical side of creating rings and experimenting with new and better ways to create them, I was falling in love with wood tones, textures and design. We became so much closer through this newly discovered passion and found we worked well together, so we decided to open an etsy shop and share our designs with others.

That was in 2012, and now, in 2018 we are living in Nova Scotia, Canada and supported by a team of four creative employees who all have the same passion and dedication to making the best wooden rings as we do.

Allan and I have found a new shared interest in growing our business and creating an amazing, modern work environment for our employees to come to work in and in continually bettering our processes and our customer service to make every Northwood experience as exciting and magical as that first gift of an oak ring.

    Elizabeth Hill creates rings alongside her husband Allan, but she leaves most of the actual making to him. Elizabeth prefers to be working directly with their customers in the designing and planning stages of custom wooden rings.

EXCHANGE:

If you are not happy with your Northwood Bentwood Ring, we do welcome exchanges on all Northwood Styles purchased from our online store within 60 days of receiving your ring, and so long as the original ring is in good condition.

If your ring is not in good condition an exchange would be made based on our Care-For-Life Guarantee guidelines.

If your ring has been custom created for you, your ring may not be eligible for exchange.

SHIPPING
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for exchanging your ring. Any customs fees for receiving the ring back for exchange will be the responsibility of the customer. Please follow our instructions on sending your ring back to us closely as we’ve outlined the best way to ship your rings without incurring extra charges.

REFUND:

You have 60 days once you receive your ring to initiate a refund. When we receive your ring we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned ring. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the ring. So long as your ring is returned in the same condition in which you received it, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment).

You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer’s policies, usually no more than 10 business days.

Your refund will be the full amount of your order less our cost of shipping your original order and the cost for any added inscriptions.

SHIPPING
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-­refundable. Any customs fees for receiving the ring back, as well as our original cost of shipping will be deducted from the refund amount given. Please follow our instructions on sending your ring back to us closely as we’ve outlined the best way to ship your rings without incurring extra charges.

Payment
All ring orders must be paid before we start work.

We offer direct check out, accept etsy gift cards and accept paypal payments. If none of these options are suitable for you please contact us so we can work on a solution.
Shipping
All of our rings are made to order when you purchase. We make each ring by hand and cannot guarantee a shipping date on custom orders made with woods we don't typically use, but if it's in our shop it will ship within 15-20 business days of ordering.

Within Canada:
We ship UPS, which takes between 5-7 days to arrive once the ring has shipped.

Within the United States:
We ship using UPS. The service takes between 4-7 business days once the ring has been shipped depending on your State. If you need express shipping please contact us to set up a rate for you.

Outside of Canada and the United States:
We use UPS to most countries, but for countries where UPS is not a viable option we use tracked packet service through Canada Post and rings can be expected within 8-15 business days of shipping confirmation. If this is not available for your country we will be in touch with you about shipping and will refund any additional cost over and above the shipping solution to your area.

PERFECT FIT GUARANTEE:

If your ring doesn’t fit right, we’ll take care of it with our Perfect Fit Guarantee!

Our Perfect Fit Guarantee** ensures that you can send your ring back if it does not fit comfortably for a new size, even if we have to remake your ring!

At Northwood Rings, we hand make every single ring to your size when you order. Because our rings are being crafted by hand, we can’t guarantee a machine-perfect fit, and sometimes a small difference in size can be just enough to make wearing your ring uncomfortable. We want to ensure you love your ring, and being able to send it back for an adjustment just makes sense.

Our Perfect Fit Guarantee** qualifies you to send your ring back for a one-time adjustment to your size. If you receive your ring and find that it isn’t fitting comfortably, you have 60 days from the time you receive your ring to reach out to us about getting your ring adjusted. When you do, we’ll work with you to find the best fit. After this step you’ll send your ring back to us, and we’ll make whatever adjustment is necessary.

There are no fees (aside from shipping*) for this service so long as the original ring is in like-new condition and you have contacted us within the 60 day period.

Our Perfect Fit Guarantee covers one adjustment only. If further adjustments are necessary we will work with you based on our Care For Life policies.

Once your ring has been adjusted it is no longer eligible for return for refund.

*Customers are responsible for paying their return shipping costs and any customs/duty costs that may be applied. Please ask us about shipping rates to your area if you are concerned.

We will provide a $15 credit towards the return shipping of your ring once the ring has been resized if the adjustment needed is within a half size of the original ordered size. If shipping to your area costs more than $15 you will be asked to cover the difference.

**Custom orders may not qualify for this guarantee (custom orders include rings where the customer worked with us to create a ring unlike any that we currently sell on our website. This does not include rings that have been customized using our liners or inscription service choices on the product page).

We know you’ll love your new ring, even when it’s not so new. That’s why we’ve put together our Care-For-Life Guarantee**. Our guarantee makes sure your ring will be taken care of for as long as you love it.

CARE-FOR-LIFE OF METAL BASED RINGS

Our metal based rings have a lot of advantages for long-term wear and future care of your ring. If you don’t have allergies to metal or other reasons not to wear gold, we suggest considering this style as it offers our customers the best care we can provide, while still showing the beauty and originality of a wooden wedding band.

RESIZING:

We offer a one-time free resizing with our Perfect Fit Guarantee to all of our customers. This resize must be taken advantage of within the first 60 days of receiving your ring, and the ring must be in an unworn condition. See our Perfect Fit Guarantee for more info.

If you are resizing your ring after 60 days or after wear, we can resize your ring for a fee based on the work needed. This fee consists of a Re-Wrapping fee (starting from $65 USD), as well as a Welding fee ($30 USD) and a fee for gold if your ring is going up in size significantly (it is possible to stretch/reduce original band half size in either direction with no fee for welding or gold cost).

REPAIRING:

If your ring is in need of repair we will do our best to repair damage at no cost to you. In cases of minor damage (scratches, small chips) we can usually make your ring look like new without the need to re-wrap the wood portion.

For major repairs to the wood portion of your ring we offer a Re-Wrapping service for our metal based rings. This service starts at $65/USD for labor, and additional charges will be determined by the materials and style of your ring.

CARE-FOR-LIFE OF ALL-WOOD RINGS

We love the look and feel of our all-wood rings. They are light to wear and perfect for anyone who is looking for an option free from gold or other metals, whether that’s due to allergies or personal convictions. Our all-wood rings are a strong and durable option, but due to the nature of wood we cannot offer the same level of service that is possible with more traditional jewelry styles. Here are the ways we can help you enjoy your all-wood ring:

REFINISHING:

RESIZING:

If you need a new size of ring after the Perfect Fit Guarantee, or after wear, we can resize your original ring up to a half size (up or down on most rings, down only on a prong-set moissanite style).

If you need more than a half size in either direction we offer a 15% discount towards a new ring, but cannot accommodate any further resizing of your original ring.

REPAIRING:

If your ring is in need of repair we will do our best to repair damage at no cost to you. In cases of minor damage (scratches, small chips) we can usually make your ring look like new without the need to make a new ring.

In cases of major damage we offer a 15% discount on a new ring if we cannot repair your original.

Our Care for Life guarantee has been created to help you take the best care of your Northwood ring. When damage occurs to your ring we will do everything we can to help you repair your original ring without cost. We cannot be held responsible for damage that may occur from wear or use of your ring.
