"Music is definitely my biggest inspiration (second to my family of course!). Many of my designs are created by listening to the music or from the album covers/labels."
~Ty The Record Guy

~Ty the Record Guy has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Idaho. He started melting record bowls in college. Falling in love with records and the raw material it offers, it soon evolved from rummaging through thrift store clocks and an exacto knife to having a clock supplier and developing my own tools. Ty takes great pride in his work and the fact that it's going to make someone smile. He loves getting notes from customers saying that their loved ones cried when they opened their present. That's why he does this... To spread the joy and love...

~ShadowsOfTime would love to work with you to make custom designs and ideas for you or for your loved ones.

~Ty the Record Guy is also on constant lookout for any boutiques and shops that would like to carry ShadowsOfTime products.

About

Shadows of Time: Giving New Life To The LP Once Destined For The Dump

My Story:

My name is Tyler Garcia, I am 24 years old living in Tri-Cities, WA with a wife, two sons, and two crazy schnauzers. I completed my degree in Music Education in May 2013. I started making record art in 2011, melting record bowls in my kitchen oven. I had seen some laser cut record clocks online and wanted to see if I could make them by hand. I picked up an exacto knife and a candle and went to work. It took about 6 hours to finish a piece. Eventually I found the right tools and can now cut the records with even more precision although still all done by hand. Today I have sold my clocks all across the US and Canada. I named my hobby-business NotByLaser (now Shadows of Time) after constantly writing that I make everything by hand and not by laser cutting. I forgot to push the space bar and ended up typing notbylaser and it just stuck. I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for supporting me, my family, small business, and the arts.

All of my items are designs and I can make them custom to your liking. I will try my best to find specific records, but that may be pretty impossible without getting expensive. Other options on the record are a certain color paint splattered on it or a solid color. Message me to let me know how you want to customize your clock.
