I ordered this as a gift to my mom for her desk at her new job. It is perfect!! Well made, adorable, and packaged carefully so no damage was done during shipping. It also shipped out faster than I expected and was delivered to me 2 days before I thought it would be! Thank you so much!

About

WORK IN PROGRESS IN MY CERAMIC SHOP

My start in craftwork began many years ago when my sister, Dolores Corrado, (who was a gifted artist) and I shared an interest in creating and selling our craftwork. She pursued a career as a graphic artist; I continued as a hobby but learned some of the finer points of artwork by my association with her.

She has since passed on but many of her beautiful pieces of signed artwork previously sold might be recognized - many of a Southwestern nature, American Indian, and Dimensional ArtForm.

Ceramics is just one part of my interest in craftwork. I make my own slip (liquid clay for mold casting) from dry clay body in a 30-gallon mixer. This is a crucial and time-consuming process of weighing and testing for finished quality pieces and problem-free mold casting. The casting and cleaning of greenware (unfired pieces) is the unpleasant part; the hand painting and having the pieces come to life is the most rewarding.

Since this is basically a one person operation, it's necessary for me to separate my projects and work time to allow space and materials for painting, sewing projects, paper crafts, and other, in my ceramic shop and studio work room without conflict. For this reason I do not take custom or special orders but will consider special requests in some cases.

Although I enjoyed meeting the public when doing craft shows, since I joined Etsy in May of 2011, it is a welcome change from the hardships of doing shows. It has been a pleasant experience as a shop owner with Etsy and to be associated with so many talented people.

I welcome you to look thru my shop at the different categories that are available for sale at affordable prices, or just for the entertainment of window shopping.
