About

Saints and Angels

In 2010 I moved my family from Paris to our small farm house in Normandy. I discovered the saints and angels hiding in the local Sunday Brocante markets.

I got under the spell of these objects of concentrated faith and hope, each telling a story, each being different...

Between Art and Craft
Since then, I have become a more focused collector targeting the years around 1900. Thus, the waste majority of items sold in NotreDamedeParis date from the period between 1850 and 1930.

This is the period of industrialization. However, most of the sacred objects are produced in small workshops and assembled by local farmers in the winter evenings to make a supplement income to the family household. This is especially true for the rosaries.

Other Items, as the Madonna carved in wood or the meerschaum carvings, required more craftsmanship. Though the designs are often reproductions of a largely repeated motive, they are artistic in their accomplishment.

The souvenir medals from the large centers of pilgrimage are probably the objects made by the greater number. Other medals and silver crosses were made as unique items by local jewelers.

Enjoy

Shipping
I ship by ”La Poste” which is the public French mail system. It may take 2-3 weeks before the package arrives (but often it is faster).

All shipments to the US, Canada, Europe and Australia are automatically tracked. The parcels can be tracked here: http://www.csuivi.courrier.laposte.fr/

I will do this tracking in case a parcel is suspected to be missing.
Refunds and Exchanges
I inssure all shipments.

1) If an item arrives broken, all you have to do is to send a photo of the broken item. In this case I refund the value of the item, but not the shipping cost.

2) If a parcel does not show up with-in 1 month from the shipping date, I refund. However, for me to do so, you have to contact me. If the tracking shows that the parcel has been delivered, I will not refund.

3) If you regret your order, you can return the item, and I will refund the value of the item upon reception, but not the shipping cost.
