Thanks again, Briar! The item was even better than photographed and described. You have a beautifully curated collection and I wanted to buy everything in your store in Brooklyn.

About

Other Times Vintage

We're Other Times Vintage a two person team made up of Briar + Jason with a rich combined background in Art, Design, Interior Design, Photography, Carpentry, Restoration + Installation.

Were partners in the true form of the word. Our combined skill sets make us into a superhuman capable of researching, hunting down, restoring, styling, photographing and finally delivering the highest quality vintage mid century modern furniture, and rare eclectic objects of design to our customer's doorstep for a great price.

If we needed to sum up our aesthetic in one term, I think it would be Tropical Bungalow. We love teak wood, rattan, textiles + greenery. And we also love 1950s + '60s design, minimalism, clean lines, form and texture.

When we are sourcing new furniture we go in with an open mind, it is an exciting experience finding things. We check for condition issues, consider form and function; but above all we consider beauty. Would we want this in our home? Thats how it all started. Briar and I have been collecting for years but we were running out of space. Briar said, "wouldn't it be cool if we could just keep getting more and more stuff and selling it so that we could just keep buying more?!" And thats what we did. At first we sold to our friends & local businesses. Then one day we decided we would try out Etsy. In the beginning it was fun selling our small treasures but now at almost two years later it has become our passion and full time jobs.

This store has given us the amazing opportunity to get a beautiful space in Brooklyn where we can , photograph, restore and enjoy an ever growing and changing collection of exceptional mid century mod + beautiful objects from "other times". We love the idea of finding things and giving them new life. Often furniture that is 60+ years old needs our TLC and we unearth the original beauty in pieces that would otherwise be considered lost.

Need some inspiration for an upcoming design project or want to enrich your life with something beautiful? Check out our current and sold items in the shop. Check back in as we add items constantly. If you are looking for something specific and we currently don't have it listed, send us a custom request and we will see if we can track it down. Local customers are encouraged to stop by our showroom as we have hundreds of objects waiting to be photographed. Just contact Briar and she will set up a private viewing at our show room conveniently located in Brooklyn.
