Awesome eyelets! I contacted the artists and they sent me a pair made to a more desirable wearable length. Well made, though I thought there would be a flare to them. I might reorder a pair that has flare. Thanks!

About

Where Integrity and Craftsmanship Take Root

Hello, I’m Christine the wife of Tommy (22-years) and mother to Justice (12-year old designer) and boy/girl twins Marshall and Mercy (6-years old).
We live in a little west Texas town where Tommy works six days a week for a jewelry store that specializes in CAD/CAM. Each day he works on everything from basic jewelry repair to CAD pieces with intricate designs that he expertly casts. Many of those pieces also include dozens, sometimes hundreds of stones which he sets with much care. His job is both challenging and fun. In his spare time, which isn’t much, he plays guitar for our church.
For 12-years I worked in the banking business, a year after having our first child I left my job to stay home. I soon started a professional organizing business, Moore Organized and learned to balance a small business with home life. I enjoyed it, especially meeting new people and seeing their goals reached. In my spare time I love crafts, all kinds of crafts.
About 8-years ago Tommy decided to start designing his own pieces and selling them to family and friends under the name Oak Tree Jewelers. We had dreams of opening up a little shop and working for ourselves, but plans changed, twins were born and we decided to keep the business name, but only do custom pieces for those we knew.
Seven years ago, while still pregnant with the twins, I took up crocheting. I quickly found out that I wasn’t that good at it, beyond a scarf, I was useless. While searching for ‘how to crochet a neckline’ I stumbled upon a video on ‘how to make a necklace’ and immediately decided I had to try it. That day I made my first necklace and the next day I sold it. I was hooked. (Pun intended.) ;)
After selling dozens of necklaces a friend suggested I start up an Etsy store, which I did using our Oak Tree Jewelers name and added a few pieces. A few months later I added some of Tommy’s pieces and just a few months after that I started a Facebook page. I was still very new at marketing our shop, and still am so we only sold a few pieces each month. Not enough to really see a big profit, but enough to pay for extras like our daughter's Girl Scouts, Tae Kwon Do and Summer Art Camps. To us that was perfect.
Now we’re working towards making the shop our main source of income. We have a long ways to go, but we have lots of ideas and a deep desire to work together full time. Thank you so much for stopping by our shop. We hope you find something you like and we love comments and feedback.
Christine
