About

Our Odyssey Together

Our passion is creating beautiful things to make the world a more beautiful place. We were married in 2003, and I (Barb) started making Victorian Ornaments to be with my husband (Dave) while he made stained glass. They were a hit and we changed the name from Odyssey Stained Glass to Odyssey Creations, LLC to incorporate my new lines. Together it has become a growing passion of creativity and a journey of growing our business together with the goal in mind that this business would be our retirement business. We started this shop with Etsy in 2008 and about a year later branched into our other shops: www.BZ Originals.Etsy.com for Barb's jewelry line, and www.Odyssey Cache.Etsy.com for supplies that we also use to create things, and most recently www.OdysseyCache.com as an independent site.

We both continued to work, all the while increasing our materials supply to help carry us into our retirement. In doing so, our sales in our supplies shop escalated significantly with the beaded fringe that I now designs myself and have made especially for us. It came to the point that if we wanted to create, we had to quit our jobs. Dave retired at the end of 2013 and retired becoming full time Etsy June 1, 2014. We still work very long hours, but they are our hours. And the result of building our supplies line over the years has resulted in a wonderful, extensive pallet of silk flowers, beautiful beaded fringes and trims, ribbons and ornaments of every possible color, as well as every color of stained glass you can imagine, not to speak of a cabinet full of every possible bead and color of metal you can imagine for my jewelry making business. We are working in an artists delight and it just continues to grow as do our creative processes now that we are so much more focused on just Etsy and our creations.

We both love making the world a more beautiful place one creation at a time. The continuing flow of gratitude and praises from our faithful as well as new customers is what will keep us going for a long time. Thank you so much for all YOU do! We love you all!

Blessings,
Barb & Dave Zinkhan

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Custom orders are welcome but please allow 2 weeks on small projects up to 3 to 6 months for large wedding orders. Custom requests are considered on ornaments but no custom orders on these. They are a creation from the heart and I do cannot make them under pressure and am only able to make a few each year. No Christmas custom orders accepted after October 31. Photos are helpful from you for colors to match.

A deposit in the form of a custom listing of 50% will be required on orders over $20 if your request is something we can accept. The deposit is nonrefundable once work has begun and materials purchased. Upon completion, a 2nd custom listing plus shipping will be provided to you along with final photos.

Most orders are processed to ship within 1 to 2 days. Made to Order items normally ship within 2 weeks. We cannot guarantee normal USPS delivery times stated in our upgrades during the holidays.

Shipping upgrades are available from your cart upon checkout. How fast it gets to you depends on what shipping choice you choose.

Please check your SHIP TO ADDRESS as we print labels from that exact address. We are not responsible if you input your address incorrectly.
See also International Shipping if applicable.

SHIPPING REFUNDS

Most items in this shop are calculated by weight to your location for shipping costs and automatically combines. However, we will refund any overage of the actual shipping and packaging costs plus reasonable handling. Your refund normally comes the same day your order ships by however you paid for your order.

DELIVERY ISSUES AND INSURANCE

Once the package shows it was delivered on the tracking and if you did not receive it, please contact your local post office IMMEDIATELY after contacting your neighbors to make sure they didn't get it. There is nothing either Etsy or we can do once it is delivered. You can also call USPS at 1-800-275-8777E with tracking information for redelivery or delivery issues.

We do purchase insurance on all packages over $10. You MUST notify us within 60 DAYS of of ship date to file a claim for a missing package. We cannot file a claim until 45 days from the ship date. You will be required to electronically sign an Affidavit stating the package was not delivered. You will be refunded when we are paid on the claim.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Postal rates are controlled by the United States Post Office, not us. You can go to www.USPS.com to obtain an estimated cost for international shipping.

International shipping is currently in tiers in the following weight ranges: 1 oz to 8 oz; 9 oz to 2 pounds, and every pound thereafter adjusts to a higher price level. The jumps are anywhere from $5 to $13 per level and it levels out to a $5 increase per pound after about 6 pounds. Most tems are shipped based on the weight of the item to your location plus packaging and minor handling costs.

Buyers are responsible for any customs charges. Be sure you know what your country's threshold is prior to ordering.

INTERNATIONAL TRACKING

All international shipments are issued a customs number by the US Post Office which will be in your online receipt. This number provides tracking until it leaves in the USA, and then afterwards only if your country scans it in, which they are not required to do, yet many do. The only way to get 100% tracking is to (1) order over 4 pounds worth of product and have it shipped priority, or (2) ship international express.
