March to your own beat....
My Grandma, Thelma, was a very wise and a very creative woman. She was forever sewing, knitting, crocheting, and putting magic into some wonderful, hand-made thing.
She always said, "March to the beat of your own drum."
It is something that i have held dear to my heart throughout my life. I have always been a little "offbeat." Besides words of wisdom, my Grandma also gave me the gift of sewing.
As a child, I was a tom-boy who carried around a stuffed green corduroy mouse. I had sewn that mouse myself by hand, with the newly acquired skills my Grandma taught me. It took forever, but I persevered. When the toy was finished, I felt so incredibly proud (and so did my Grandma)! I still have "Cuddles." today. Though well-loved and a little dirty, she has withstood the test of time over two decades.
I put that same energy, pride, and durability into everything I create. As a Stay-at-Home Mom, I understand how items get needed and used and loved by my own family.
I'm an Off-Beat Betty with a sewing machine and a dream:
To have others fill their homes with my handmade treasures, to do a job I love to do, and always march to my own beat!
