Oh, Plesiosaur.

Oh Plesiosaur began with a joke. One morning in late 2013, I woke up with a burning desire to illustrate dinosaur puns. Things escalated, as puns often do. Now I make things I love and dream big dreams.

I'm a graphic and web/UX designer, ex-librarian, succulent aficionado, and dinosaur enthusiast. I've been in love with illustration as long as I can remember. My childhood heroes were picture book illustrators; Chris Van Allsburg, Edward Gorey, Mercer Mayer, Alice & Martin Provensen, Maurice Sendak. During my years as a librarian (hey, once a librarian always a librarian) I couldn't wait to share these beautiful images and words with my students. As an illustrator, I strive to capture the same beauty, playfulness, and wit in my work.

Seeing my art in print never fails to excite me. Web design pays the bills, but illustration fills up my heart. And when I create a new product, I get to share that feeling with the whole world.

I am constantly revising my process, improving my materials, and searching for inspiration. I use recycled paper for my coloring book, and work with small local businesses to produce most of my products. Heck, even my shipping materials are recyclable.

Little things make me happy. I love hearing from customers, getting a chuckle over a silly pun, or seeing a design come to life as a real, tangible product. I love fanning out my Pantone swatches to choose the perfect shade. I love quiet afternoons with the sun streaming in the studio window, cat sleeping on the couch, while I draw new designs.

Most of all, I hope Oh Plesiosaur makes your day, or at least makes you laugh.
