I Love Vintage!

I grew up in a house of collectors. My mom loves anything that is old and country. My dad has always loved books. When I was a kid, we used to garage sale every weekend during the summer. I started my own collections as I grew up and developed my love for vintage decor, books, and all those things that remind me of my childhood.

I started reading blogs about online selling in the spring of 2011. It intrigued me and I wondered if I would be any good at it. The premise of an online store seemed to fit with my personality and I decided to give it a try.

When I was thinking about what to sell, I found myself going back to all the vintage "goodies" that I had grown up with and items I had collected. It seemed natural to sell what you love and I knew I needed to find a venue to sell my vintage finds.

I opened in June of 2011 after a suggestion to look into Etsy from a friend. I have loved the process every step of the way- finding vintage goodies that need new homes, cleaning, photographing the items, writing listings, even packing and shipping! Doing something you love is really very easy.

I have found that if I think something is pretty cool there is usually someone else out there who does too! I have been honored to reunite people with items that have special significance to them and to have customers share their stories with me.

Shipping
I ship Monday-Friday. Your item will be shipped the next business day after receiving your CLEARED Paypal/Direct Checkout payment and CLEARED E-check payment. (Orders placed on Friday will go out first thing Monday morning or next available business day should Monday be a holiday.)

I ship through Paypal Shipping, Etsy Shipping, and Fedex. If I receive an error message about your shipping address OR your address in Paypal and Etsy are different, your item will not ship until your address is verified by you. I will message through Etsy convo as well as send an email to your address provided on the receipt. If I don't hear back from you, the transaction will be fully refunded and cancelled after 3 days.

DOMESTIC CUSTOMERS:

Shipping is figured from Washington to Florida. If there is more than two dollars difference between the calculated amount and the actual shipping charges, I will refund the difference back to your Paypal account.

-Books are calculated Media Mail.
-Antique books or books in delicate condition are shipped Priority Mail.
-Cards are calculated First Class Parcel (due to cardboard mailer).
-Magazines are calculated First Class Parcel.
-Unbreakable items are shipped by Parcel Select unless Priority Mail/Fedex is less expensive. (Will depend on weight and location.)
-Small breakables are shipped by Priority Mail.
-Large breakable items and multiple breakable items that cannot be safely shipped in a box smaller than 12x12x12 will be double boxed and shipped Parcel Select unless it is less expensive by Fedex Ground.

★ All items + shipping valued at over $100 will have Signature Confirmation of Delivery when sent by USPS. Signature Confirmation has slowed down delivery time. It may take a few extra days to get to you.★

Combined Shipping:

I am always happy to combine shipping. There are many variables with item sizes, weights, and destinations. I refund any shipping overage as stated above once all is packed and priced to ship. Occasionally if an upgrade in service is required because of weight, there may not be a combined shipping discount.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

I DO NOT mark items as gifts on customs forms or declare the value to be lower than what you paid for it.

I do my best to make sure your item arrives as safely as possible and as economically as possible.

I base my shipping charges on First Class International Mail on items under 4 pounds, Priority Mail if over 4 pounds.

Items valued at $75.00 and over will only be shipped by Priority Mail International to all other countries but Canada.

If there is more than two dollars difference between the calculated amount and the actual shipping charges, I will refund the difference back to your payment account.

There may be taxes and duties due on items upon arrival in your country. These are NOT additional shipping fees, and you are responsible for those costs.

Please keep in mind that any item shipped by First Class International mail may take 4 days to 8 weeks to arrive (even to Canada). I have no control over customs and transit time!

International Buyers and Combined Shipping:

If the articles combined exceed the 4 pound weight limit of First Class International and the items must be sent by Priority Mail International, please be aware that there may not be a discount for combined shipping. I will refund any shipping overage as stated above once all is packed and priced to ship if I am able.

I am happy to upgrade shipping to a faster service if you need it. I will explore the options and convo you with the options.

If you purchased your item and paid via Paypal, I will invoice you with the shipping difference. The item will ship at the chosen upgraded option once payment is received for the upgrade.

If you purchased your item and paid via Direct Checkout, I will fully refund and cancel the original transaction. The item will be relisted with the upgraded shipping amount and put on reserve for you. HOTEL / MOTEL / TEMPORARY ADDRESSES:

Due to past issues with lost and extremely delayed packages, I no longer ship to hotel, motel, or temporary addresses.
Refunds and Exchanges
The items I sell are Vintage items that are far from new. They will have dings, and dents, and all sorts of other character adding features. I do my best to over describe the items and take fabulous pictures. In the event that you aren't happy, here are the terms:

1. Please contact me within 7 days of receiving the item to let me know you aren't happy. After 7 days, I assume you are thrilled and absolutely NO refunds will be offered (date verified by Delivery Confirmation).

2. The item must be returned to me in the same condition it was received, and postmarked within 3 days of return authorization. You are responsible for shipping costs to return the item to me. Refund will be given upon item's return to me. Refunds will be issued back to you in the form it was submitted to me.

3. The refund amount is for the full purchase price for items with free shipping, unless it is a situation covered in the specifics below.

4. The refund amount is for the item's purchase price only unless it is a situation covered in the specifics below. I do not refund original shipping.

5. I do NOT offer partial refunds of any kind!

Special Situations:

➭FREE SHIPPING for items that have it only applies to the first delivery attempt. If an item has to be resent due to incorrect address or it was not picked up from the PO, the buyer is responsible for the additional shipping charges.

➭I do not offer refunds on items that break or are damaged during alterations.

➭If an incorrect address has been provided by the buyer and the item is returned to me, the buyer is responsible for the additional shipping costs to resend the item. If the transaction is canceled, the refund will be for the ITEM/ITEMS only. The original shipping costs will not be refunded.

➭If an incorrect address has been provided by the buyer and the item is lost in the mail, NO refund of any kind will be offered.

➭If an incorrect address has been provided by the buyer and the item is delivered to the incorrect address (verified by Delivery Confirmation), NO refund of any kind will be offered.

➭If an item is returned to me because it was not picked up from the PO, the buyer is responsible for the additional shipping costs to resend the item. If the transaction is canceled, the refund will be for the ITEM/ITEMS only. The original shipping costs/return shipping costs will not be refunded.

➭If you refuse an item or do not pick up an item at the PO that has been sent Parcel Select/Standard Post and the order is canceled, the original shipping AND return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund as the return shipping must be paid by me upon pickup at the PO.

➭UNINSURED BROKEN ITEMS: If an item gets broken in transit and is not insured, a FULL refund will be issued back to your payment account AFTER pictures of breakage and packaging are received.

➭INSURED BROKEN ITEMS:
If an item arrives damaged, you must keep the item and package as originally received and contact me immediately. If the packaging is not retained, no claim can be filed and no refund will be given. Below are statements are taken directly from Shipsaver, which is the insurance company used by OldVintageGoodies:

All packaging material and damaged goods must be kept in the original form as received. Packaging and damaged goods should not be disposed of, released to the shipping carrier, or returned to the seller before a claim is completed. Failure to comply can result in the denial of the claim.

During the claims process, a claim statement/affidavit signed by the recipient (or intended recipient) will be required. This is a form document provided by Shipsurance that allows the recipient (or intended recipient) to indicate loss or damage. An online version is available for sub - $100.00 claims.

Once the form is submitted and Shipsaver messages me that your part is complete, a FULL refund will be issued back to your payment account.

If these procedures are not followed, no claim can be processed and no refund will be given.

➭LOST DOMESTIC MAIL: If an item gets lost in the mail (not received within 21 BUSINESS days), a FULL refund will be given after the 21 business days have passed. Business days are Monday-Friday and do not include holidays.

➭LOST INTERNATIONAL MAIL: If an item gets lost in the mail (not received within 45 BUSINESS days), a FULL refund will be given after the 45 business days have passed. 45 business days is also what my shipping insurance company requires you to wait to file a claim for insured international packages. Business days are Monday-Friday and do not include holidays.
Additional policies and FAQs
ITEM COLORS:
Every computer monitor is different. The item's colors may vary in strength and hue from the colors in the pictures. Yellowing of the item may not show up in the pictures. Please read the description carefully and note any age related issues that have been stated.

PETS AND CIGARETTE SMOKE:
My home is pet and smoke-free. However I purchase my inventory from a variety of sources with no way to know their history. If you are very sensitive, please be aware of this. I do my best to describe each item accurately, including noting any strong scents and smells an item may have.

RESERVING ITEMS:
I am happy to reserve items worth more than $10 for up to 7 days. After 7 days, the item will come off of reserve and again be available for sale if not paid for. I do not reserve items worth under $10.

GIFT WRAPPING:
Unfortunately I was born with a serious lack of gift wrapping skills. Due to this sad fact, I do not offer gift wrapping services. If you put that your item is a gift in the Note To Seller, I am happy to ship your item without a receipt.
