About

From stay at home mom to stay at home artist, it has been a wonderful journey!

As a wife and new mom in North Carolina during the mid 80's, the decision to stay at home to raise my children was an easy one. However, doing that put a tremendous strain on our budget and financial situation. To ease some of the burden, I began selling my Christmas crafts at numerous fall shows, church bazaars and in-home shows. My mother and husband were a huge help to me, watching my kids as I worked the shows. As we continued our journey across country to Alabama and then Utah, craft shows made way to "year-round" boutiques. The designs were no longer just Christmas, and I had to come up with creations for each season and holiday. During this time, my mom passed away and my third and youngest child was born. So the boutiques more suited me over the weekend craft shows.

After my husband was transferred, yet again, we ended up here in Washington state. The year-round boutiques were not popular here as they had been in Utah. And the setting up and tearing down of those weekend shows became a little more than I wanted to deal with. My youngest was entering school, so I decided to quit crafting altogether and became heavily involved in PTA during his elementary school years. Once he moved on to middle school, I was ready to hang up my PTA hat, and by then, I was eager to get back into the creating mode. That is when I discovered the wonderful world of primitives! I started selling my prims online and soon opened my own website. And before I knew it, I was making and selling my patterns.

It has been a long journey from those little crafts shows back in North Carolina. We are here in the Pacific Northwest to stay! And I am where I want to be with my crafting business for good! Selling online has been a life-changing experience for me! I have met so many wonderful people along the way and have made many lasting friendships.

I truly enjoy watching something "come to life" from the original thought process until I put on that last "finishing touch". I now create and sell for the love of it. And I hope it shows in each and every piece I make!
