About

High quality lighting made just for you by me!

Hello, my name is William Eichorst and welcome to my world! I am an electrician by trade and have been working rewiring old buildings in Lancaster, PA for many years. I love the architecture of older buildings whether it is a home, business', churches or warehouses. I find the character and art in the building designs fascinating and this inspires me in my designs. Imagine you are in an upscale mens clothing store in a downtown historic district and you are working on lighting (true story). The store itself is beautiful with all sorts of suspended wooden canopy frames to give the appearance of a floating roof. Above these is a standard drop ceiling. I go in the back room behind the "employees only" sign and notice a big change in atmosphere. Besides the boxes of inventory I look up and notice I am in a once bustling bank of long ago. The ceiling is a few stories high with a massive skylight still intact. The walls are all plaster on brick with gorgeous plaster trim frames surrounding huge artwork once painted on the walls. The plaster is crumbling and flaking at places on the walls but the beauty remains. There are rooms with solid thick mahogany doors and frosted glass panes with the past office inhabitants names still visible. Then you have the lighting in those rooms! The original fixtures to the building hanging with the metal shades and mirrored bottoms. It was like I was in a time machine and these opportunities come to me often. The things I stumble over and experience are incredible and I use these experiences to help in my design. Furthermore I see the quality and durability of these early fixtures that many of todays lighting manufacturers do not provide and its this great quality and durability that I put into all my lighting.

So how did I start crafting my own lighting? Well I've been rewiring and repairing lighting for a long time and wanted to build my own lamps. So after I've built some for clients at a retail store they have been completely bombarded with questions on how to get their own and who was the designer/builder. I decided to continue and after I've been building these for others, I'm finding it’s a great enjoyment so, the birth of my Etsy store.
If you have an idea but don’t see it here then just ask and I'd love to talk to you and get a creation going! Whether I have it or it is a custom order, I'm sure you'll enjoy your new lighting masterpiece!
