I love my custom made bag! I have received many compliments, and I always feel pleased as I grab it to run out of the house! It's well made, hasn't stretched at all while loaded down with my wallet, keys, etc. Beautiful bag!

About

Olive Koza

Perhaps like most crochet shops on Etsy, my shop grew from my hobby--crocheting as way to unwind for the day or as a cozy project to occupy my hands during cold winter days. As I started to become conscious of where my clothing and other things I bought originated (most often in places with inhumane labor laws) I started using my crochet to supplement my wardrobe and to give as gifts. When my supply of crocheted pieces outgrew my own needs and as my excitement grew in crocheting new designs, Olive Koza came into being.

I love the meditative act of crocheting. I feel empowered creating items by hand for everyday use just as people did generations ago. I strive to crochet pieces that are modern but with a reverence for the traditional.

I chose the name Olive Koza, an altered combination of my and my mother's maiden names, as a tribute to the creativity of the women in my family, who've embodied the spirit of 'handmade' for generations.

I was born and raised in Nebraska. My mother taught me to crochet at an early age, at around 10 years old. I also really enjoyed art, so much that I went on to get both a bachelors and masters degree in studio art with an emphasis in painting.

Welcome to Olive Koza! Thanks for supporting handmade. My cowls and handbags are all crocheted using my original designs.

My cowls are now made to order in a variety of colors. I use good quality super-soft acylic yarn for my cowls--its very soft against skin and drapes well.

If you have an idea for a cowl or crocheted handbag, feel free to convo me or click on 'request a custom order' on the right side of my homepage.
