I was recently looking for a Christmas gift for my mother who requested a small sewing kit for her cabin in the Adirondacks. I wanted something small, unique, and homey - just like the Cabin. Fortunately, I found Olivia's shop and found exactly what I was looking for. Not only is the sewing kit adorable and unique, but it has all of the basic essentials which which any sewing kit should be equipped. Plus, it shipped almost instantly, and after purchasing, showed up at my door with two days max. I was so pleased with everything and would totally recommend purchasing from Olivia in the future.
Perhaps people other than friends would like my stuff...hummm.
I have been sewing dresses and other trifles as gifts for friends, and other loved ones, for years.
One day, when I was at the home of a friend, I saw the portraits she had done of her newest baby. The dress she had chose for her daughter to wear for the photo shoot was the one I had made for her baby shower gift. Woah. What a compliment.
That was the start of the hint in the back of my mind that, perhaps, my creations were marketable.
A few years back I started sending head wear I had made to the to my sister to sell in her sea side community.
Perhaps, thought I, I could make a snip of money to spend on fabric, which is, of course, my weakness. And buttons, too.
The hair things sold well, and I was encouraged in the thought of, "perhaps people other than friends would like my stuff..."
One of the delights of selling on Etsy is the International community that comprises it.
What a thrill I receive every time someone from overseas purchases an item from my shop!
My children and I have a map on which we mark the place of each person who buys from my shop. What fun!
I sew during bits of time during the day, with my girls joining in on their projects. "Let's have a sewing day!" I say, and we do.

My mother was incredibly tolerant of our creativity as children. Realizing now, with four children of my own, that Creativity=Mess, I am so blessed to have had such a fun and free childhood! I delight in creating on my vintage machine!
My goal is to make and ship quality products that will stand the test of time.
I only sell items that I would purchase myself and allow my family to wear.
Most of my designs reflect my personal style and sense of what is appealing to my eye.
My hope is that they appeal to you too!

~A note about shipping cost: I have factored in the cost of shipping supplies (envelope, tissue paper, ribbon, stickers, printing of the receipt and such) along with the actually cost of mailing the package. This is good to understand if you see a discrepancy between the amount charged and the amount stated on the stamp on your package:)
