Hello! Welcome to Ominicci Designs
(Say it how you like --- 'Oh-min-ee-chee' for an Italian Designer flavour, 'Om-in-ickee' is the most popular, or 'Oh-my-nicci' which is how it started.)
After several years as a Civil Servant, I took a redundancy package which has allowed me to create my own studio at home and concentrate on making lovely shiny things!
I took a fabulous FoldForming Class with Robert Dancik at the Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery a while ago, and love using these techniques to produce mini 3D works of art. Viking Knit Weave is another favourite technique of mine and I can produce custom lengths and widths, finished with hand forged clasps. These chains are highly suitable for the Big Holed beads such as Pandora, Troll, Chamilia, Biagi & LoveLinks and my own statement beads. Please use the 'Contact' or 'Request a Custom' links in the shop to ask any questions.
Thanks for looking!

Jewellery - GENERAL
Jewellery is for a decorative purpose and whilst Ominicci Jewellery is robust and fit for purpose, no responsibility is accepted for damage or loss caused by activities of the wearer.
To help prevent tarnishing, items can be kept in ziplock/resealable plastic bags with as much air removed as possible. Anti Tarnish Tabs are also useful in jewellery boxes.
General Information - SILVER
Items made from silver with a shiny or matt/satin finish can be polished with a Silver Polishing cloth available from most Jewellers or large supermarkets. These items are also suitable to use in the plastic pots that contain a clear liquid cleaner (not paste, which can be abrasive), but if your item has a stone in it check its suitability first (do not use these pots with Pearls, Coral or Opal.) You can also use plain dish washing liquid and a very soft toothbrush if necessary.
Items with a Patina or Oxidised (blackened) finish should not be cleaned with any chemicals (including a jewellery cloth), as these pieces are designed to look 'aged'. A light brushing with a very soft toothbrush and weak plain dishwashing liquid solution can be used if necessary, but note that this could possibly 'clean' away the Patina.
General Information - COPPER
Copper oxidises, or tarnishes, more quickly than silver and following wearing, after many, many years will become the colour of old pennies despite any Patina (colouring) or coating applied .
To clean copper back to its original shiny colour various methods are suggested, including lemon juice, cola and proprietary copper cleaners.
Copper that has a patina or been artificially darkened (oxidised) or coloured in any way should not be cleaned as this will wear away the patina or colouration. If the patina/colour has worn away through general wear after many years I am able to re patinate or colour the copper, however it may not be exactly the same as before.
Copper can sometimes react with the natural oils in the skin of some people and cause a black or green deposit on the skin. It is not permanent and should wash off.
