Threaded: Fashioned from life’s necessities, designed for your unique style

Let’s face it: somewhere between the onset of womanhood and the chaos of Motherhood, fashion and function begin to fail. Heels break at the weight of children, tiny clutches become a source of humor (Not ours!), and shoulders that once went strapless bear the lashes of countless bags. Family life is enough to overwhelm and knock the bottom out of just about anything – including our sense of style!

The products by Threaded are born from those dilemmas – the moments when we say, “Why can’t this just hold one more beach towel?” or “Why does my teacher tote always fall apart?” At the same time, they’re meticulously designed, handcrafted, and personalized to restore any woman’s sense of style or add a touch of class to important moments. Every product is designed and strenuously tested by a working mom for her fellow woman. From the best, hand-selected materials to the care that goes into every stitch – everything by Threaded is designed to add joy to life’s most precious events and a bit of sanity to everyday life.

Meet Stephanie : Founder of and chief designer/maker for Threaded

When even the best available products fail to meet life’s demands, Stephanie’s muse – her creative inspiration – sets in. Despite growing up around great seamstresses, it took motherhood to set Stephanie’s wheels in motion. She began by collecting small scraps of her children’s clothing to design her first quilt, but soon a background in outdoor leadership, the demands of motherhood and an eye for creative problem solving formed a new muse: Creating supremely functional and incredibly durable items that are life-proof and designed specifically for fashion-minded, hard-working women.

Between toting her two boys to and from the pool and ball games, and the demands of everyday life, there’s no shortage of inspiration. The desire for something better has led to everything from super expansive, splash-proof beach bags—that hold everything but the kitchen sink—and picnic blankets that withstand the abuse of wet grass and ball cleats, to teachers’ totes that are tough enough to span generations of students. Meanwhile, her impeccable eye for fashion has grabbed the attention of brides, wedding planners, and bridal websites nationwide.

But there’s more to Threaded than just products : It’s about family and community.
Following the success of her first products, it was amid earning a master’s degree and caring for her family that Stephanie came up with the idea for Threaded – primarily with the goal of earning income while working from home where she could be with her two small children. In the thick of a holiday season, you’ll find her children helping with packaging and shipping, while her husband, Jeff, pitches in with accounting and marketing. Meanwhile, all day every day, she is just steps away from the needs of her community.

And Threaded does more than just operate alongside communities; it expands the concept of family to include them. In her spare time, for instance, Stephanie brings adults and children into her world, where she teaches sewing (and inspires entrepreneurial mindsets). At the same time, she promotes the concepts of social and environmental responsibility, by gathering and up-sourcing used clothing and fabrics from area thrift stores for her lessons—keeping these items out of landfills and encouraging a more sustainable wardrobe. In addition, she is careful to source fabrics and materials for the shop that are ethically made.

And it’s about meaning...
Once her muse sets in, Stephanie admits that the drive to fulfill specific needs—for working women, moms, and just about any woman—is a muse that she finds insatiable. (If not completely maddening at times!) Threaded is a labor of love that keeps her going and keeps her up at night, and it’s what connects her to the world at large. With every stitch she sews, it’s the look of excitement on each customer’s face that she envisions. “I do this for the working mom, who is trying to hold onto some piece of her identity—the one who is trying to find something truly useful, but also that looks good when she throws it over her shoulder. I connect with who she is and can see her as I work.”
And THAT is the spirit of Threaded.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Customizing includes the following: adding a zipper, color changes, design changes, monograms, vinyl pressing, size changes, fabric changes, etc. Bridal and Bulk orders are considered custom orders. These orders, once placed, are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled as they require purchasing supplies up front. In rare cases they may be subject to store credit on a case by case basis.

Do you wholesale?

I am 100% a handmade seller - I employ no help and work with no outside manufacturers. Therefore I do not offer traditional (50% + off) wholesale. However, I do offer percentage discounts on bulk orders on a case by case basis. Please ask!

When will my order ship?

Each item in my shop has a production range. Please check out the receipt for your assigned ship date - contact me asap if you need to adjust, and I'll do the best I can :-)

Can I have this order rushed?

Whenever possible I try to accommodate rush requests. During extremely busy times of year (i.e. spring break, Christmas, wedding season) I may not be able to help. Rush orders require a rush fee and priority shipping. Please contact me before ordering to inquire about rushing an order. Thanks!

Can this ship sooner?

I have an extremely high order volume, I'm truly blessed! However, that means any special shipping requests must be placed BEFORE ordering your items. If you include a note with an order - without contacting me first - it may not be honored.

International Shipping

If your country is not listed, International shipping may be available on request. Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs. I ship via International first class USPS postage - once shipment leaves the USA all responsibility goes to the customer's postal agency. Buyers should familiarize themselves with their country's postal regulations, fees and policies. NO REFUNDS will be given for international shipments.

Return Policy

All returns (with the exception of custom items) are considered on a case by case basis. All returns, once approved, are subject to a 25% re-stocking fee and return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Customer will be responsible for any damage or wear on return items and that amount will be deducted from the return balance. I do not refund shipping charges.

Loss of Item Due to Postal Service

All of my items are shipped with tracking numbers. Threaded will NOT assume responsibility for delivered items. Threaded will NOT reimburse or replace items that are lost by USPS. If you would like to use another carrier you must contact me and request alternate shipping services.

Monogram & Embroidery Proofs

I would be happy to provide a proof - ON REQUEST - however with my high order volume I do not provide them unless requested. When requested, I provide them FREE of charge.

Incorrect Mailing Address on Order

If your mailing address is incorrect and an item is returned to me, you will be invoiced for shipping to have it sent to the correct address. Please check your address when you order. I offer FREE shipping on many items, but I only offer it once. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
