ORIGINS:
Punk Baby® was born in 2006 in my apartment in Los Feliz (a small area of Los Angeles, just below the famous Greek Theater & Griffith Observatory.) A few friends and family members had started popping out babies that year and I had about 8 baby showers to go! I'd just begun freelancing as a graphic designer (after several years of designing graphics for a few well-known apparel lines based in LA) so I had some time on my hands. While perusing baby gift registries full of necessities and traditional clothing, a light bulb clicked- why not design special, custom graphics for my friends?

I created a few designs for each friend, put them on simple, white onesies, and voila! Easy, custom, baby shower gift. I thought they might be kind of fun, but I didn't expect the shower guests to break out in applause after the onesies were unwrapped and passed around! A friend's mom suggested I start my own business with the designs, and proceeded to talk to me of nothing else for the remainder of the shower. And thus Punk Baby® was conceived!

In 2008 a few friends mentioned they'd seen other stuff popping up online and suggested I protect the name, so that year Punk Baby® became a registered trademark.

GRAPHICS:
The original graphics with a rock twist have been smile-inducing everywhere I've sold them! This, in turn, makes me happy.
Designs include the baby bass guitar, the trademarked skull and crossed rattles logo, Punk Baby® tie, and suspenders. Prints have also been inspired by many iconic bands and inspirational artists from the Clash, the Ramones, Guns 'n' Roses, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Misfits, Psychedelic Furs, Social Distortion, and the Sex Pistols.

SIZES:
Punk Baby® is a teensy, tiny company. This means I've made everything in very small and limited quantities. In order to keep our stock from getting too unruly, I don't sell every size.
Available sizes:
3-6 months (perfect for baby shower gifts)
12-18 months (perfect for 'First Birthday' gifts)
2T (also known as 24 months, and for larger 18 months)
4T (great for 3 and 4 year olds toddlers)
When in doubt, buy the larger size! I can pretty much guarantee the wee one will grow into it! If you're not sure about sizing or need any help, please don't hesitate to ask!

PRINTING:
Please note that ALL SILK-SCREENED CLOTHES, including Punk Baby®, should be washed inside-out in and immediately dried for best results! Screened printed apparel, Punk Baby® or otherwise, will fade. Every design is hand printed in LA on American made clothes and features an original Punk Baby® graphic (all copyrighted). Accessories are handmade by me as well!
