About

Instant Downloads for Creative Souls

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit Digital Curio! We are Kate and Aaron Rose from Roseville, California. We are self-taught designers, having fallen in love with Photoshop and Illustrator as soon as we discovered them. We feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon such a rewarding and fun pastime.

We opened Digital Curio in 2014. I (Kate) create the artwork from scratch or using vintage images in the public domain, while my husband Aaron runs the store and does most of the logistics involved! The MO is eclectic; I love all styles and forms of digital art and have become a sort of jack-of-all-styles in artistic endeavors. A good friend suggested we try opening an Etsy shop for my designs, which had mostly been a side hobby for the past eight years. I never thought there could be a market for them, and we have been pleased and surprised at the support of the online community!

We strive to offer the highest quality graphics for your creative needs, whether it be for personal or commercial projects. We take pride in our work and it is important those who are interested in our designs feel that they can connect with us on a personal level.

We thank each and every customer from the bottom of our hearts for your support!

Frequently asked questions
Commercial Use License for Clipart and Digital Paper

* The images can be used for personal or commercial purposes. POD friendly. Commercial use does NOT require an additional license purchase! Hooray!

* Images can be used to create commercial physical and printed goods.

* Any DIGITAL commercial use, in which you are selling a digital product, such as an instant download, MUST be sold in the form of a flattened, complete and finished design. You may not sell as-is, or use to make other digital design resources. Using my graphics to make clip art, digital papers, add-ons, or other design resources that you sell, is NOT ALLOWED. If you are unsure if use in your product is ok, please send me a convo.

* Do not redistribute, resell, share or copy. I retain copyright to the images in my shop.

Will you refund my order?

I will gladly refund and cancel your order, if you have not yet downloaded the files. Due to the nature of the product, there are no returns for digital items that have already been downloaded.

It is important that you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. Please contact me if you have a question or concern with the graphics.

What is WeTransfer? Why is my download a text file / pdf file?

Some of my products exceed Etsy's file size limit. Those products are kept off-site at my file transfer service, WeTransfer. Your download from Etsy contains a link to your actual product there. If you are not comfortable using WeTransfer, please contact me and I would be happy to upload to an alternative transfer service of your choice (such as DropBox or Google Drive).

Can I use your images in digital scrapbooking kits or scrapkits for taggers that I sell or give away?

No. The images must be used in a flattened, finished design or product that is not meant to be used in a creative way by your customer. Digital scrapbooking kits and scrapkits are design resources. Some examples of digital products that are OK are invitations, calendars, art prints, planner stickers, printable party decor and games, logos, and branding materials. Please send me a convo if you have a product in mind but are unsure of usage terms!

I have used your images to make my own textures. Why can't I give them away or sell them?

If you want to sell or give away your work containing my images, it must be a complete, finished design or product and NOT a design resource. Combining images or textures to make "new" clipart or textures that you sell or post for free is not allowed. If you are not clear on what constitutes a design resource versus a finished product please send me a convo!

Most of your papers are 12x12, but my printer only uses standard size paper. Can I still print your images?

Yes. Most home printers have the capability to print larger images two ways. You can instruct your printer to shrink the image to fit to page, or to crop off the sides that extend beyond normal paper size. This capability and the steps to do so will vary by printer. If you have any trouble, I offer free resizing on most of my digital papers up to 10 sets. Some sets do not qualify for free resizing due to the composition of the images on the 12x12 format.

How can I print your images with gold foil?

The gold as seen in the listing will not appear as shiny as in the photo when in print, because it doesn't print as real foil and would be ink or toner on paper rather than backlit pixels. To print with real foil requires a different file setup and foiling equipment. The images in my shop are not formatted for use with real foil.

For best results on the gold, I recommend printing on pure white paper so that the colors come out closest to what you see on your screen. If the image is dark, I recommend using a laser printer rather than inkjet, and cardstock which is at least 90 lb weight.

I'm new to all of this. What is digital paper? What is clip art and how can I use it?

Digital paper and clip art are sets of digital images. If you purchase a listing from my shop, you will be able to download the images by going to your purchases and reviews section.

Once downloaded to your computer, you must "unizp" the zipped folders of your download to get access to the images. If you use Windows, you can do this by right-clicking the zipped folder and choosing "extract." This will place a file full of the images in your chosen location on your computer. I usually extract to the desktop so I can find them easily.

You can then use the images to design with digitally, or to print directly. Once unzipped, digital papers are ready to print for use in paper crafts.
