Oshun is the Yoruban African Goddess of love, and delights in the creation of beauty and art. Self adornment and wearing beautiful clothes pleases her very much, so my aim is to make beautiful clothing suitable for the little goddesses!
I try to be eco-friendly so I often use vintage or pre-loved materials, but sometimes remnants and new fabric. Although occasionally I follow similar trains of thought, I don’t use patterns; developing each garment organically, so every outfit is completely unique , handmade and one of a kind. No-one else will own one like it!

Shipping
My local post office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons. If I receive an order before noon on one of those days, I will most likely post that afternoon; if not, it will be the next day possible.
UK postage is sent 2nd class 'to be signed for' delivery.
Overseas shipping is sent with tracking for most items; I'm sorry about the cost - I don't make any profit on posting. Parcels to the USA take approximately 6-10 working days, (it can be as few as 4 days or up to 14 days), but can be 3 weeks to some parts of the world. I'm sorry, I cannot be more specific than this, I have no control once I've posted it!
Smaller items are usually sent with regular airmail and may take up to 3 weeks.
There should be no customs costs as I mark packages as 'Gift'.
I'm often asked if I can send an item with express shipping. I'm sorry, but airsure is the fasted posting method we have at a reasonable price. 5 day delivery is about £60.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please check measurements to try to avoid returns. If you are not happy with your item please contact me. I will refund items only if I receive it back within 14 days of receipt and in completely new, unworn condition. If I need to wash or repair, I may deduct a small amount to cover this. I only refund the cost of the item, not the cost of postage. Return postage is at your expense and responsibility and I strongly recommend you use registered delivery. Unfortunately if the item is lost in the post on its way back to me, I can't refund you.
I'm sorry I can't be more generous with this, but I am a very small business in early stages; I hope you understand.

NB. Exclusions. I don't offer refunds on made-to-order items.
Additional policies and FAQs
I never send out anything that I wouldn't be happy to receive and I really hope you will be completely delighted with your Oshun Creation. Please note that whilst I do my best to select fabrics that are as good as new, occasionally you may spot signs that it has previously been loved - slight fading for example. I will never use any fabric that spoils the look of the garment, however I may use slightly flawed fabric for lining where it won't show.
All seams are serged/overlocked where appropriate. I sometimes leave edges raw, which means with wear and washing, they may fray slightly. I do this deliberately because I like the effect it makes and believe it adds to the ethereal quality. If I think this will be severe, I run a line of stitching near the edge to prevent the garment fraying away!

Sizing. To allow for the differences in international sizes, I use age as a reference to the size. This is a guideline only as I am aware children of the same age vary in all shapes and sizes. I always include measurements in the description, so please refer to those.

Care advice. Hand washing will no doubt help all garments last longer, however our lives are usually busy ones, and as long as the fabric allows, most things I make should be up to machine washing on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees C. If your machine doesn't have those options, please hand wash to be on the safe side. If there are any special instructions that differ from this, I will mention so in the listing description eg. some items with embellishments will have to be hand washed as they aren't suitable to go in the machine.

International differences. Please remember I am in the UK and there is often a time difference - we're 6 - 9 hours ahead of America depending on area and time of year. Therefore, please be patient with your questions as I may be getting ready for bed when you ask something and unlikely to reply till the next day!
There are also differences in phrases or names of things. If you're not sure of something please ask. (Eg. your pants are our trousers; our pants are your knickers; your vests are our waistcoats and I won't tell you what your fanny packs are!)
Likewise, I do know how to spell! Words like colour, jewellery, customise etc. are correct English spelling.
