You know what, I've been working on this page for awhile now and I forgot all about the name of my shop, Oui Jolie. It of course is French meaning, "Yes pretty." While mulling over different words, names, my thesaurus … it just popped in there one day, thank you Muses!

Ever since I can remember I've been attracted to the more creative side of life. Maybe it was all the Masterpiece Theater I watched as a kid (I can still remember that snake moving across the mosaic backdrop in the I Claudius intro). You name it I've probably done it, drawing, painting, sculpture, knitting, felting… I've always had the passion to create. While I dabbled from time to time in the past, I've finally come round to jewelry in full force.

As so many ventures seem to start for me, my dedication to jewelry was sparked by an, "I can do that!" incendiary device. My first bracelet was strung with aurora borealis beads and a fairy charm for my Mom. What followed was an exploratory phase, learning the tricks of the jewelry trade. Since then I was inspired by the latest wrap bracelet craze, a style reignited by designs from Chan Luu. While the understated silver button from Chan Luu is beautiful, coming across my Mom's vintage button collection fostered a creation that I found to be more colorful and distinctive.

With my focus on wrap bracelets made with vintage buttons, you won't find a lot of cookie-cutter items here. Many of my items are one of a kind as I only have a limited stock, sometimes only one, of each button. Couple the beauty of these vintage buttons with a desire to see them paired with a variety of beads and leather, it's doubtful you'll ever see the same creation twice. While each item's unique character makes the process of getting each item to Etsy more complicated and labor intensive, it also means that you will likely be getting something no one else will have, a truly one of a kind piece.

In addition to vintage buttons, I also offer a selection of wrap bracelets featuring Swarovski buttons. These are perfect for that special occasion, whether it be anniversaries, weddings, or just a night on the town. While I offer the ability to customize a bracelet using my stock of vintage buttons, the ready availability of Swarovski buttons offer a more consistent opportunity for customization if that is what you desire.
