I inherited my father's collection of slides, mostly 35mm Kodachrome, which includes hundreds if not thousands of photos he took as he traveled all over the US in the 1960's and 70's, and as you can imagine, I think they hold historical significance. An accomplished amateur, my father had an excellent eye for content and composition. I may or may not have inherited those qualities--either way, I've certainly inherited his love of images and captured a few of my own.
I find Dad's pictures stunning and sweet. I'm digitizing the slides into high resolution [4000dpi] jpegs, and I'd like to make them available to the public--that's what lead me to start Our Kodachrome Years, my own micro stock photography site on Etsy.
Our Kodachrome Years is about what I call Anthropologic Ephemera: documenting period artifacts, sensiblities, and styles of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s through my family photographs--and making them available to you as high quality digital downloads.
