First, let me say thank you for your interest in the Owls & Orchids shop. My name is Sierra Murray and I am the 32-year-old founder and one-woman-show behind Owls & Orchids, which operates entirely out of the apartment I share with my husband in North Carolina.

I hand sculpt and sell polymer clay charms which are designed to be used as progress keepers and stitch markers for knitting and crochet. Being small and lightweight, are perfect to place on projects or bags. Every item and detail has been hand sculpted, so you are getting a unique piece every time! This also means that I am open to most customization requests.

I began sculpting shortly after getting married in 2012 when I was struck with a number of health issues that made a regular 9-5 job impossible. During that time I was looking for creative outlets that would help me make it through the day and cope with that feeling of a sudden loss in productivity. I started by sculpting jewelry items, but found my true passion after discovering another hobby which quickly became a favorite of mine - knitting!

As I continued to learn and grow as a knitter, my eyes were opened to the incredible world of knitting and crocheting accessories. The idea of fun stitch markers and progress keepers sparked a new curiosity in me, and soon I was making dozens of charms that would live on my knitting projects, hang on my project bags, and even grace a key ring on my pocketbook.
My hope is that these charms help bring joy to your everyday life. They are a great addition to bags, key rings, and any fiber projects (knitting, crochet, weaving etc).
