OzarkPots

At OzarkPots I create functional pottery for everyday use. The functional quality of pottery has always been of interest to me as it allows the pot to blend right into our daily routine; it becomes a part of the world we call our own. It's not a selfish "ownership", it's more of a "relationship" with the things we enjoy using. In my studio, whether the piece is beautiful, unique or just downright funny, functionality is always at the forefront of it's creation. I'm always thinking about how the piece will be used and how to make it easier to use or more efficient, or perhaps more comfortable to hold. Is the balance right? Is it too heavy for its function? Does the spout pour cleanly? In other words, does it work?! When studying pottery I was fortunate to work with an instructor who emphasized function and therefore taught me a great deal about what works and what doesn't. After 40+ years of working in clay, I'm still discovering and developing techniques that continually improve the function of my work. "If I think like a customer, I know I'll get it right!"

That last statement carries into everything that I do at OzarkPots. From the time I begin to craft the piece until it's in the hand of a satisfied customer, I AM the customer; that's my mindset. Making someone happy is one of the greatest feelings a person can enjoy and this shop makes that a reality for me every day!
