About

Fighting the cycle of poverty with fair trade art.

At Partners in Development (PID), we work to help the extreme poor attain independence and whole life improvement in places where hope is often lost in the cycle of poverty. We are currently focused on serving some of the neediest sections of the Caribbean, Central America and the United States. Because whole-life change is essential for the extreme poor to escape poverty, we’ve strategically designed sets of programs to meet the specific needs of the populations we serve. Through economic development, children’s programs, housing and medical assistance, we engage whole communities in whole-life change, ensuring a better quality of life and a more promising future.

One part of this change starts in our Etsy shop. We opened our shop to provide an opportunity for artists in the areas where we serve to make a fair wage. In areas where the standard wage is incredibly low and the unemployment rate is incredibly high, earning a fair wage means putting food on the table. Your support of PID and the talented artists that we work with makes a difference to individuals, families and entire communities.
